Derek Knight

I walked out of the house, pissed. I wasted six fucking months. "Derek! Please wait!!" I ignored her and kept walking. "Please." She grabbed my hand but I pushed her away from me. "Get the fuck away from me!! I trusted you!" She shook her head as tears came out her eyes. "No, please, it was a mistake! Please forgive me." She cried, holding on to me.

I looked behind her and saw that fucker smiling at me. "You went to him after everything he did to you. You're weak! I gave you everything!!" She couldn't say anything but cry. "Don't leave me." I give up, he won. I'm done trying to win her heart if she's gonna run back to him every time.

"We're done."

"Wake up, weirdo!!" My eyes snapped opened and I came face to face with a concerned Yemi. It was just a dream. "You were shaking and mumbling. Are you okay? You're sweating." All I did was hug her close to me. "I'm fine now." She rubbed my hair. "This is the third time this week, what's wrong?" She asked me. "Nothing, love." We've been seeing each other for three months.

"You have to go to work, you'll be late." She got off me. "Where are you going?" She puts my shirt on. "I'm going to get the girls' breakfast and iron their clothes, they have school in a bit." She tied her hair up. I spent the night with them last night. The twins asked me to stay over and we played and watched two movies before their bed time.

I got up and followed her to the kitchen. I wrapped my arms around her slim waist as she leaned into me. "You should really be going. I don't want you to be late." She was right. I didn't want to be behind on work. "Fine, I'll be back later to spend time with my favorite girls." She kissed me. "Give the girls a kiss for me." She nods."Bye baby." I winked at her before walking out the door.

I kissed my daughters goodbye as they ran into the school then drove to work. I walked in the store to see people everywhere. Looks like it's gonna be a busy day. My worker, Janice smiled at me. "You have a client, she's getting married and she was told that you're the best around here." I smiled. "Where is she?"

Janice pointed to the back. "She's waiting to talk to you in the back." I thanked her before heading to my client. "Sorry to keep you waiting, you must be the lucky brid-" I gasped when she turned. "Yes I'm the lucky bride." She smirked showing me my old engagement ring. He proposed to her. "Don't look shocked. I mean he loves me, it was bound to happen." Some part in me was hurt that he would do this but the other part of me didn't want to care.

"Well I came to discuss the color of my wedding I know you have everything." She grinned. "Well congratulations and please follow me this way, you can see what you like." I turned on my heel. "Could you slow down?" She chuckled. Lord give me the strength. "What about these colors?" She shook her head. "I want pink and purple." I showed her some colors and she finally picked one.

"I don't know about the rest, I'll have to come back next with my fiancee to choose. Is that okay?" I clenched my fist. "Sure, would you like to make a date?" She puts the ring finger on her chin. "Sure." I gave a her date to come back. I made my way to the office and took a seat. He was getting married to her.

I shouldn't be affected by this so much but I am. I'm finally forgetting him and moving on with my life. Derek helped me so much. I was actually happy that he cared for me. He didn't treat me any differently because of my kids which I was grateful for. "You okay in here?" I opened my eyes to see Janice looking at me. "Yeah I fine, you needed something?"

She nods. "Outside is getting really crowded and I really would like some help." I got up and followed her outside. I need more workers. I only hired Janice because I thought my business wouldn't be successful but turns out that it did and Janice could only handle so much at once. "Thanks." She smiled at me before going back to her costumers.

Then my phone buzzed.

'Don't eat too much, I'm taking my girls out to eat.'

'We won't'

I picked the kids up from school. "Mummy can we get ice cream today?" Zania asked, putting on her baby voice. I glanced at them in the mirror and they pouted their lips, looking back at me. "Fine, just not too much. Derek is taking us out to eat." They gasped when they heard his name.

"Mummy how can someone be so handsome?" Zamia asked with a dreamy voice. "You should be thinking about Barbies at this age." She smiled at me. "But he's so dreamy!" Where did she learn those words? "I don't know what I'm going to do with you girls." It was true that they had a crush on him.

We pulled up and got out for ice cream. "Daddy!" Zania squealed. Looking up, I saw him walking to us. "My babies!" He scooped them in his hands, giving them kisses. "Hey." I simply nod. "Look at the menu and see what you girls want, I'll pay for it." When they were focused on the menu, he looked at me. "Congratulations on getting married." I told him. He sighs. "Who told you?" His eyes widened.

"Your fiancee came to my shop, looking at things. I saw the ring and everything." He sighs. "We were supposed to surprise you and the girls with the news. "You know damn well the girls will be upset." I shook my head. "Will the girls be upset or you?"

Does he want to be slapped. "The girls, I don't give a shit what you do with her as long as she doesn't bother them, I'm fine." He chuckled, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Glad you think positive." I rolled my eyes. "I have Derek, Bentley I'm actually really happy, I'm feeling better too." That was the truth. I wasn't fully heart broken anymore. "You're still with him? I thought you'd move on to the next one."

My hand instantly connected with his cheek. "Watch the way you talk to me, Bentley." The girls turned to us. "We know what we want mummy." I smiled at them and glared at their father. He better get his act together.
