My Brother's Best Friend

Chapter 21

I gasped "me, I have to tell my brother we are dating. We are in the relationship together. Me and you champ so all for one or none for all. We are in this relationship together until the end."

I spend the weekend with Jackson not talking about our upcoming doom. The fact that we needed to tell my brother, Jax's best friend that we had progressed in our relationship. That now instead of friends we are together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Today Jackson took me to the shopping centre to do some shopping and then for lunch for a quiet meal in one of the downstairs cafes. Then he dropped me off at home. Together we were going to tell my brother. I gripped Jackson's hand firmly in mine as we walked into the house.

Bobby was sat in the couch next to Danielle cuddling up to a movie. I dragged Jax over to stand in front of the TV. Bobby's eyes flicked to us and then to our joint hands. A bitter smile overtook his face. Danny gripped his arm keeping him in her arms and away from us.

I cleared my throat and simply said "we are together."

I watched as both boys jaws dropped, Jackson whispered "you were meant to let him down gently."

I smiled at Danny, Bobby knew from the moment that he saw our joint hands that there was something more going on. I waited for someone to speak. No one made a peep, I added "surely you would agree that he is better than Jamie. You always said you two were like brothers so...Yeah. You know he's a great guy we grew up with him, watched him grow into this amazing man." At that point, I was now just rambling on about whatever came to mind.

Danny was the next to speak "I think this is absolutely fantastic. To be honest I have seen this coming from a long while."

I glanced back over to appreciatively, Jackson finally spoke "you have been telling me for so long to stay away from her. I did for a long while but now staying away is doing no good. I love her man and she loves me."

I watched as Bobby kept a straight face. He glanced over us again and landed in the joint hands "how long have you two been together?"

Neither one of us knew how to answer that question, possibly because we don't really know the answer to the question. Jackson spoke for both of us "I have loved her since we were kids, I asked her to be my girlfriend last night to answer your question. But how long this really has been in the making, we have been together for a lot longer than that."

Bobby's face remained unreadable as Jackson spoke. I watched as Danny squeezed his hand and then whispered into his ear. He spoke again "do you love him as well Matilda?"

I continuously nodded my head "with all of my heart but I also love you, Bobby."

Bobby sadly smiled back "I love you too sis, I'm sorry you felt like I was keeping you apart. I was but mainly to protect you, not from just Jax but all guys in general."

I ran over to him and threw myself on top of him and Danny. I laughed into his shoulder "you do know nothing was going to keep us apart and if you tried that would be a walking contradiction since you are dating my best friend."

Bobby kisses my cheek "I know, I also know that you love him and done so for quite a while I was just stupid and overprotective with boys."

I got off the boys and rejoinder Jackson, I pulled him away from the lounge room yelling over my shoulder "we will be in my bedroom!"

Bobby yelled back "with the door open!"

I ran upstairs dragging Jackson with me. When I got upstairs I pushed Jax into my room quietly closing the door behind us. I knew my brother would check but he and Danny don't leave the door open. When we were finally alone on my bed he pulled me into his arms, I laid my head flat against his chest and whispered "and to think if you weren't my bothers best friend we wouldn't be here."

He kissed my forehead tenderly "I think we would have found each other, with or without Bobby's help."

I ran my hand down his chest stopping at his hip. As I went to open his belt he stopped me "we can't Bobby is downstairs and he will check on us, it's guaranteed because he asked you to do something. We both know you aren't the best at listening."

I jokingly gasped "what are you saying, baby? That I don't listen to you or anyone."

He pecked my lips nervously "well I'm not exactly saying that but you do have selective listening when asked to perform certain tasks."

I laughed against his shoulder "selective listening, good one."

I felt as he let out a deep breath he was holding. He added "I do want to be with you...like that but maybe not here. If we want to do stuff we should take it back to my place since there would only be us there."

I nodded my head pecking his lips once more "fine but one day Bobby won't stop us from shagging here because this is also my house not just his. Maybe I should make a rule about Bobby keeping his door open when Daniele is here."

Jax laughed, we more like snorted "yeah make your brother leave the door open with Danny in there wouldn't stop them from hooking up. If anything that would encourage him to do it more frequently and louder. I don't think you want that Matty."

I pecked his lips one last time "thank you for not only being Bobby's best friend but also mine. I love you, Jackson."

Jackson pecked my nose "I love you more Matilda."
