Breaking free

                                              In the dark night sky,
We were the twinkling stars. 
Brighter than the sun above 
Shone the love of ours. 
                          The love in your eyes, 
It was once my crown. 
You took it away, left me 
Broken and scattered... to drown
                          At depth of my despair
Reflecting for infinite hours
I then let go of what we had
Of whatever once was ours

                          Your love once imprisoned me
I went on breaking the golden bars
Finding a way out of the pit
Healing the poison filled scars.
