Y/n and Jamie were with their group of rowdy friends. The night was cool with the occasional whoosh of crisp air. The group wanted to eat, however our little troublemakers wanted to keep having fun. They decided to sneak off into the corn maze. It seemed to get colder as they got closer. They reached the entrance Jamie happened to notice Y/n having second thoughts "You're not chicken are you?" he teased her. She scoffed "No! Let's just hurry up!" she led the way into the maze. Their cloth covered shoulders brushed each other as they walked. A few moments later a loud snap could be heard. Jamie's brown eyes widened at the sudden sound. "What was that?" the teens looked behind them and noticed the exit was shut. "What the heck?! who closed it!?" Y/n slammed her gloved hand on the damp green shrub in an attempt to break through.
As soon as the words left y/n's mouth a loud deep laugh rang their ears. They looked around searching for the source of the sound. "Welcome to the end of your life! As you can tell you're trapped in here, I'll let you live if your answer is right, if not then you must die tonight." they didn't believe you at first but when he stepped out of the eerie darkness, they knew it was true. He was a dark slim man, dressed in black from neck to toe. For on his head was a jack-o-lantern. Y/n clinged onto Jamie once she saw the machete in his hand. The man began to speak again. "The first thing you have to find is a jack o'lantern, you have five minutes to get the answer to my banter. The jack o'lantern lies where the tree turns red, hurry and find it or wind up dead."
The teens looked at each other in fear. "As I Leave with a bow your time starts now." He took a bow and eased back into the darkness. Y/n turned to face Jamie. "We have to work quickly" she had a serious look in her e/c eyes. He nodded. "Yea he said, the jack o'lantern lies where the tree turns red so maybe we're looking for a tree." They looked around and noticed a big oak tree near the middle of the maze. They walked towards it. As they walked they heard the call of a crow. "Kaah-kaah!" They saw the silky black feather of a crow fall.
They got to the tree and noticed a note on the pumpkin. "What does it say?" Y/n asked. Jamie looked at the note with confusion on his face. "It's just a prank bro?" All of a sudden a bright light shined on the two of them they instinctively covered their eyes. The man from earlier came out laughing but with a higher laugh this time. He took off his pumpkin and revealed his face. His frosty locks bounced when he did. "Jack you jerk!" Y/n let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. It was just there friend Jack. Jack smiled. "You never should've left them you love birds! They were gonna buy you food!" Jamie rolls his eyes, annoyed with the situation. "Whatever."
