Check out the rewrite! It's (hopefully) even better version of this story (in my opinion)! It's written smoother, some plotholes are filled, and the plot right around this point actually fully changes. And I have one compelling hint:
They kiss sooner (and better).
I'd give you even more hints/spoilers to shamelessly advertise, but that would be cheating. And you all know how Pan feels about that ;)
