Chapter 24

Niall

We had been sitting at the table for 15 minutes when I saw Maria came inside the bar, closely followed by Alex. My eyes instantly searched for Mari’s presence, waiting for her to enter through the door. When she did, I smiled. She was so beautiful, more than ever if that was even possible. We hid under the table when Maria saw us and then jumped out when they were about to take a seat. Alex jumped and smiled broadly, as Harry hugged her and lifted her up. She was crying when he put her down and each of us gave her a friendly hug, greeting her for her birthday. After that I forget about everything except Mari, it was only her in the world. I hugged her tightly and took in her Vanilla essence. Then all of us sat down at the table and we ordered our drinks. It was pretty empty so the music was not still on which gave us space and time to talk. My hand was holding Mari’s securely. We talked about our day and how we had planned everything. Alex told us she didn’t suspect a single thing about it, which the girls didn’t believe, maybe we were too naïve. After half an hour the place started to crowd and the music started to be played. We didn’t stand up until the music was on. We went to the dance floor and started dancing with the girls.

-You look stunning –I said to Mari as we danced, my hands around her waist. Maybe we were dancing a little too slow for the song but we didn’t care

-Thanks, you look great yourself too Niall

Having her there with me made me notice how fond of her I’ve grown. She really did amaze me in a way no one else did. I pulled apart the thoughts of her going in a few months and told myself how I really wanted to be with her. With nerves creeping up my stomach I started

-Mari I need to ask something but I need you to understand first a few things. I know you don’t live here, and our worlds are totally different but as much as  I try to remind that to myself I can’t help feeling what I feel. You are an incredible girl, honestly, the most fascinating one I’ve ever met and you’ve got me so into you it’s hard to believe. I know it’s really soon but I was wondering if you would like to be mine, like officially. Mari, would you be my girlfriend? –My heart was beating fast as her eyes scrutinize my face. She closed her eyes and then she replied

With just the first words he said my heart raced up.  And then with what he said I felt as if I was about to collapse. He spoke from her heart and I had to make a big effort not to burst into tears. I was afraid, I was dearly afraid of what that will mean. He said it, it was just two months and after that, what? But then he was right again, I felt something so strong for him too it was almost impossible to restrain. As I look into those eyes the fear kind of vanished. I was being stupid, I was in London to live something new and different and I’ve met the sweetest and most caring boy that existed, and my fear for the future was restraining me from living that moment and enjoying it. I had to life for the present; the future will tell what will happen. I closed my eyes and thought about it one more time because one I’ve said yes or now, things were gonna change. My mind was telling me it was a big mistake, it was crazy and stupid. My heart was screaming it was worth it, it was big and special. I let my heart win and I opened my eyes

-Niall, I am afraid –His face dropped –I don’t need to lie to you, I am afraid. But most of all I don’t need to lie to myself, and I know this is crazy. But on the other hand you make me feel special, you’ve got something that captivates me and I want to, I need to know more about that boy. Of course I want to! –He looked me in the eyes and smiled

-Really?

-Of course! –I laughed and hugged him. He hugged me back and then we shared a little, sweet kiss as the song came to an end. I turned around and saw the Auris and Zayn talking a few meters away. Cris and Liam were sitting down, drinking. Alex, Tara, Louis and Harry were dancing like freaks but then Louis took Tara’s hand and took her away, leaving the other two dancing. I returned my attention to Niall and smiled at him as the next song came by making us smiled even more.
