Chapter 28

Auris

My mind came back from sleep. I started to get conscious about everything that was around me, without opening my eyes. First the deep silence lingered in the room, further I could hear the cars’ engines going through the street. My head was facing the window and even with the curtains closed, I could tell the sun was shining outside. Great, I will have a good time at the swimming pool and get a better tan. I didn’t want to open my eyes so I stayed there, trying to take in everything around me. The room smelt like alcohol and sweating after party. I tried to guess what time it was, but it was useless. I opened my eyes and the clock on the table read noon exactly. Then I heard voices on the outside and I sharpen my ears. Alex was on the phone and she was laughing. I heard her footsteps on the wooden floor of the living room and then heard the couch sound as she sat down. Then I heard a door being closed and Mari’s voice as she called Alex’s name. And then I heard a little snore. It was a close sound. I turned my head and saw a naked back beside me. I screamed. The person beside me woke up and asked what was wrong. Oh my holy Lord what was he doing there? I looked under the covers and he was naked. Like completely naked. Fuck. Few seconds were enough for me to remember everything that happened last night. The bar, all the shots he took, the fight, the hotel, the tears, the kiss.

-What are you still doing here? Omg Zayn go away! Now! –He stumbled out of the bed and went to look for his shorts when suddenly the door burst open and Alex’s head popped in

-Shit! –She screamed –Sorry guys I… oh God bye! –she closed the door as fast as she had opened it and I hear her ran to her room and close the door not before screaming –Don’t go to Auris’ room, she’s busy! –Zayn was putting his pants on now and I covered my head up with the white sheets. I didn’t look at Zayn one more time, I couldn’t. That was for sure, the most embarrassing moment of my entire life, I just wanted a big hole to appear and swallow me. I heard him as he closed the door and walked out. He didn’t even say a word to me. I went out of the bed and walked to the bathroom to get a shower and Zayn opened the door suddenly. Have I mentioned I was also naked? Oh great, well I was.

-Fuck! Zayn get out!

-I’m sorry I left my cardigan! I’m not looking –he covered his eyes with his hand and walked to the bed as I took a towel hanging on the bathroom’s rack, covering my body with it

-You can open your eyes, get your thing and walk away fast –I warned him. He did and took his cardigan. I turned around and started to close the door but he stopped me. He whispered in my ears from my back

-I regret nothing, and I’m really sorry for what I said, hope you can forgive me. I love you –he bit my ear as I flinched at his touch. And then he was finally out. After a couple of minutes I heard someone knock on the bathroom’s door

-Auris?

-What Alex?

-Are you okay? I’m sorry I didn’t mean to open the door and well….um…are you alright? –I laughed at how awkward she was feeling with that

-Yes I’m fine, I’ll be out in a few minutes. I need to talk to you btw

-Okay, sure I’ll be um….yeah I’ll be waiting

She closed the door and left me alone in my room again. I came out of the shower and cleaned the misty mirror. Taking a look at the mirror I saw the smile adorning my face. I felt renewed, free, happy. And I knew I didn’t regret it at all, even with all the embarrassment, I didn’t regret it. And knowing that Zayn shared my feeling made me feel better about it all.

I woke up when my phone started to vibrate. I read the ID caller ‘Harry’ and smiled before answering
