Ok, sooooooo um....

Kaede lovers plz don't murder me???

Just to make it clear, I didn't HATE her, I just really didn't like her...
I actually never really liked Kaede... She just seemed like such a Mary Sue to me. Like her talent was kinda interesting for a protag, but I just didn't really like her personality, and here's why.

I really felt like they were trying to make Kaede the new Chiaki. With like the whole inspiration/optimism thing??? I feel like the encouragement thing with Chiaki made sense after the 5th trial, because she was an AI programmed to be optimistic and help. I kinda get its her personality, but that doesn't fit the protag role..

Also just how Shuichi and Kaede mourned each other so much, and they only knew each other for a week??? Like, (I'm sorry I'm comparing her to Chiaki so much) with Haj and Chiaki, they went though the game together and had emotional development. While Shu and Kaede talked in a classroom for like one scene??? (Oh wow I'm also pissing off the Saimastu shippers, look at that. Good job Zero.) I don't hate the ship, I think it's kinda cute, and I believe maybe there were some romantic feelings, but at most just a crush. Nothing serious.

I will say, I didn't just not like her because of her personality, and this is not really anything to do with Kaede as a character, but I hated how they did the protagonist switch. Like they hype up having a female protag but then we just switch to a boy after the first chapter??? Like, I feel they should have started the game with a male role, and THEN killed HIM and switch to the female protagonist. I feel like it would be way more interesting and new and exciting than 'oh turns out were playing as a boy again lol.'

Idk. I like fandom Kaede more than canon Kaede. I'm weird I know.
