Joaquin

Chapter 2

As soon as I got into my room I pulled my phone out and texted Betty "you'll never believe what just happened to me!"  I wait a couple seconds and then see the 3 dot bubble thing "What?" I'm smiling the whole time while I'm texted about Joaquin.

"Oh my god he so likes you Ava." I mentally scream because I'm so happy. "So when do you see him next?" She asked " he asked and I said thst I would be st the bar tomorrow night." This one took her a little longer to reply. " hold on is he a south side serpent?" She questioned "yes but they are not bad people and plus FP will always be there." I reply "fine I just don't want to see you get hurt." I laugh at this "I won't, Gn"

She replied with a Gn also and I set my phone down and got ready for bed. I have never really had a relationship with anybody but I think now would be a good time to start.

I woke up to my alarm clock beeping and I grabbed and shut it off. I saw that I had a text from Joaquin. I smiled and opened it and it read good morning see you tonight. This somehow managed to make me smile even more as I replied with the same text. I could get used to this.

When I got to school I went into the lounge and saw Kevin and Veronica they smiled when they saw me and I did the same. I sat down next to Kevin while listening to Veronica tell one of her stories when she was in New York. Don't get me wrong I like veronica but sometimes I feel like she can get a little annoying with all of her stories back in the glory days. When her story was done Jughead and Archie walked in. But jughead was looking especially down. "jughead what's wrong?" I asked He sighs "it's the drive in... that place has been like my home and now they are just going to tear it down." None of us said anything but Archie gave him a pat on the back. "Anyway are you guys coming to the last premiere on Saturday?" He asked all of us.

Everybody nodded their head yes except for Archie. I wonder why he isn't going? "Wouldn't miss it for the world." I say.  I looked around and noticed that I don't see Betty. "Any of you all know where Betty is?" I asked nobody in particular. "Yeah i texted her when she didn't come in early like usually and she said that she wasn't feel to good." Kevin replied. I nodded my head and didn't think that much about it
Once the bell got out I asked Archie if he wanted a ride home since we live relatively close to each other. He said yes and we walked to the car together. "Hey since Betty doesn't feel good do you want to get her like somethings from the store?" He smiled at me and said that would be a great idea.

I pulled into the store and got out as did Archie I was going through asle and asking myself what would I want when I'm sick. So I picked something salty like pringles and lays chips and a sprite. When I got to the counter I saw Archie with chocolate and other types of candy and shook my head. "Those things are just going to make her more sick" He looked at his candy and said oh. I laughed and said that the things I have will be fine. He put what he had in a corner that wasn't at all where they go and I laughed. We split the money which added to about 5 dollars each and we got back in the car. I pulled into Betty's driveway and we both got out. I knocked on the door and a few seconds later her mom opened the door. She always has that pissy look on her face but I just decide not to take it personally. "Ava, how nice to see you. Betty's upstairs in her room." She said completely ignoring Archie. She opened the door more signaling for us to come in I smile st her and walk up the stairs with Archie behind me. Archie didn't seem to take it too personal.

I did a quick knock on the door and opened it slowly. Betty looks up from her computer and smiles st us. She gets off the bed and gives us both a quick hug try her best not to get us sick. "Thank you guys so much you really didn't have to." She says while grabbing the bags. "It was really no problem." We both say at the same time.

We stayed and talked for a little bit longer and after a while Archie left leaving me and Betty alone. As soon as he shut the bedroom door Betty started bumbarding me with questions. "What does this Joaquin look like?" She asked I smile "He has jet black hair, the most amazing blue eyes kinda like a darker complexion. And really hot." She laughs and my description "ok what are you going to wear?" She asked "this" and we both look down at my black long sleeve shirt and my ripped jeans. "Ava, your going on a date you have to wear something dating worthy." She says while getting up and looking through her closet. "First of all it's not a date and second I'm going to the bar. Nobody dresses up nice to go to the bar." She sits back down and nods her head in agreement. "Ok well definitely need to see him when I'm not sick." She replies "agreed"

Archie asked if I wanted to go to pops and get a burger around 5 and I gladly agreed because that's around the time my dad gets home from work. I left him a note on the fridge of where I am going so he won't have an excuse to be mad at me because he doesn't know where I'm going. Once I walk into pops I see Archie already there sitting in a booth. I sit across from him and he told me that he already order my usual. I smile at how well he knows me.
