Chapter 25

"You sure this is a good idea?" Joaquin asks as we walk into my house "Yes he won't be home from work for another couple of hours and besides we parked my car over by Bettys so there is no way that he is going to know that we are here" I say as we walk up stairs to my room.  I walk into my closet and get my dress that was in a black bag.  I unzipped it just a little bit to see it.  It was gold on the top and then half way down it turned to white.  I got lost in the memory of it "Mom I think we should get this one" I say holding up a all navy dress. "Yeah I like that one but what about this?" she asked as she held up a dress that was covered in sparkles.  I looked at the dress in disguise "Mom that looks like a unicorn thew up on it." I say as I continue looking for a dress.  I have never been a dress kind of girl who loves to go to the dances but my mom is so I agreed to go shopping with her for my freshman year homecoming dance.  "Ooo Ava what about this one?" she asked smiling as she help up a dress that was gold and white with little sparkles.  I could tell how much she liked it so I agreed to get it. 

"Ava you ready to go?" Joaquin says kinda panicking.  I snap out of my memory and nod my head yes.  I grab a couple more things and some money that I had sucked in my drawer that I forgot to get the last time I was here.  We were about to walk out of my room when we heard the front door shut.  I felt like my whole body temperature went into the single digits.  I couldn't move as Joaquin hurries up and quietly shuts my door.  He notices my panic and steps in front of me and grabs me by the shoulder.   I look up at him and look into his blue eyes and they were unnaturally calm.  "We have to go" he says in a strong voice and I nod my head and force my feet to start moving towards the window.  I open it up and throw my dress and other things out the two story window.  "Have you done this before?" Joaquin asked with a little bit of fear in his voice and this caused me to smirk.  "once or twice.  Just tuck and roll."  I carefully got up in the window frame and jumped out when my feet hit the ground I put my head to my knees and did a summersalt as I fell to the ground unharmed.  I quickly stood up and looked at Joaquin and he was still inside my room looking down at the ground.   I hurried and got all my stuff off the ground and when I looked up he was in the window frame but was not moving.  "Joaquin lets go" I say in a whisper shout.   He just nods his head but doesn't move the rest of his body.  Finally he jumped but it did not look good.  He jumped and landed on his feet but he didn't tuck and roll.  He grunted when he fell on the ground and I honestly couldn't tell if he was hurt or just being a baby but we had to go.  "Joaquin we need to go"  I saw as I watch the front door.  He slowly get s up but starts to limp.  I pull his arm around my shoulder and help him walk to my car over at Bettys.

When we got home I got a baggie and put some ice in it and put it on Joaquins ankle.  he flinched as I did it but only for a second.  I sat down on the couch next to him and he sighs as he puts his arm around me and I lean on his shoulder.  "So how many times did you have to sneak out to learn to tuck and roll like that" he says with a smirk.  "Well the first time I literally thought I broke my ankle."  I laid on my lawn for a good hour trying to call Betty or Archie to come help me up but it was 3 in the morning and they were all asleep.  So finally I had to crawl back to my front door and knock on it until my parents came and opened up the door." this caused me to smile "They were so pissed that they had to take me to the doctors.  But I ended up breaking a bone in my foot"  

 "Where were you trying to go?" he asked " Me and Jughead were going to go hangout but he didn't have a phone so I couldn't have called him to ask for help." I started to laugh at the memory "He was waiting at our meeting spot for over an hour"  I say while still smiling. "Jughead that's Fps son right?" He asked and I nod my head yes.  "Did you two ever date?" This caused me to sit up and look at him " Is somebody getting jealous?"  He just  looked at me and shook his head no but I knew better. "Me and Jughead have always been friends and besides he is dating Betty." I say with a smile.  He wraps his hand around the bottom of my neck and slowly pulls me in.  I close my eyes as our lips touched.  I grabbed the side of his face as I put my legs on either sides of his legs.  It started to get a little heated and it felt like my chest was getting tighter and I had to stop.  I pulled away and got off of his lap and he looked at me with confusion.  "Are you alright?" He asked as he sat up with me.  "yeah, i'm just going to go to the bathroom real quick." I say as I get up and walk to the bathroom.  I close the door and leaned over the bathroom sink.  I turned the sink on and got a cup full of water in my hand to splash it over my face to try to calm myself down.  I can't even kiss Joaquin without thinking of Abel.
