Chapter 12

When we got back to his place I went inside and got the rest of my things and told him goodbye and I got in my car and headed back to my place.  I pulled out my phone and texted my dad that I was on my way back home.  When I got back to my house my dads car was still in the drive way.   I walked into the house slowly and saw my dad passed out on the couch.  I sighed in relief and headed upstairs to take a shower and put on some fresh clothes.  Once I was done I laid on my bed and soon fell asleep. 

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing.  I grabbed it and say that it was Betty.  "Hello?" I answer. "Hey did I wake you up?" I looked at my phone and saw that the time was almost 7 I have been asleep for almost 6 hours. "No no you're good.  what's up?" I say getting the sleep out of my eyes.  "Ok so you will never believe me when I tell you who Archie has been seeing." hearing this immediately made me stop rubbing my eye "Who?" I ask and Betty immediately replied "Ms. Grundy" I gasped "Shut up" I tell her.   "No and there is so much more!  can we talk?" she asked 'Hold on" I tell her as I went down stairs to look for my dad.  He wasn't on the couch anymore so I went to look in his bedroom and he was in there sleeping with the tv on.  I quilty shut the door back and I told her that I would meet her in our usual spot.  Since our parents are both crazy we can't ever talk in our own houses so we now go to talk in our own private area thats near the park.  I knew I wouldn't be able to drive my car incase my dad wakes up so I had to walk it.  Which is about a five minute walk.  When I got there Betty was already there "Before I continue one with my story can you please tell me what the hell happened last night?" she asked. I sighed I should have known that she was going to want to talk to me about it. I knew that she was going to find out sooner than later so I decided to tell her. I nodded and sat down on a bench that we were near and she sat down with me.  "So you remember the guy I was telling you about? " I ask " was that the guy who was in the driver seat when I last saw you?" I nodded my head and went on with my story "Yes well any ways you remember Abel right?" just saying his name out loud brings a sting to my chest. 

 Betty nodded her head yes "well I was at the store on Saturday and he was there also and he was telling me about this party that he was throwing at our old spot that me and him used to have and asked me if I wanted to go and I told him no. But  when I got back from the drive in movie my dad had already locked the house" Betty already know what that meant so I didn't need to explain that to her. " And Joaquin already asked if I wanted to go to the party so I decided to go ahead and go. "  It was getting harder and harder for me to talk about it but I tried not to make it show. " When I got there there was beer and Abel went ahead and got me one. and I drank it and then I started getting all dizzy and I couldn't stay up it was like everything was going in slow motion.  and then I feel somebody start carrying me to the car and the next thing I know i'm at Abels house."  I had to pause to take a beep breathe in order to continue.  Betty pulled closer to me and put her hand on my back.  "and I remember he was starting to undress me but I couldn't do anything it felt like my body was being pulled down." I say as tears started running down my face.  "Th- then the next thing I know Joaquin and this boy named Jack barged in and took me to a friends house." I started sobbing and Betty pulled me into a hug and I cried.  "Oh my god Ava" I tried my best to stop crying and I pulled back from the hug and wiped my tears away but new ones were still coming. "Where's Abel now?" Betty asked "Police station.  The serpants picked him up and took him back to the bar because I wanted to see him again. That's why I stopped at your house because all I had to wear was baggy sweatpants and a teeshirt." she nodded her head "why did you want to see him again." she asked "So I could beat the living shit out of him." I say making me laugh and that caused her to chuckle too.  but then we quickly got serious " Does your dad know?" I quickly shook my head no and she understood why. "If you need anything Ava, and i'm serious anything do not hesitate to call me." I nodded my head. " can you keep this between you and me?" and she quickly nodded her head "Absolutely." I say with a smile.

"So tell me about Archie and Ms. Grundy" I saw and her face lights up and she told me everything from Archie and Grundy being at Sweetwater river together on the fourth of July, and her and Veronica breaking into Grundys car and finding the gun to Bettys mom finding out and confronting Grundy and Archie and Grundy leaving.  "Holy shit." was all I could say.  "So is Archie mad at you?" I ask and she shook her head no.  I texted him and told him I was sorry.  "Well it looks like we had the most eventful weekend in all of human history."  and she nodded her head in agreement.  I talked to Betty for a little longer about my situation and after I felt a lot better.  once we were done I told her that I would see her tomorrow and then I started walking home.  I slowly walked in and made sure my dad wasn't up before I went back upstairs.  When I got to my bedroom I shut the door and laid back on my bed I was on my phone when I started thinking about Joaquin.  He must think that i'm full of bad luck.  I mean I just met him on Thursday! It hasn't even been a week since we meet and I have already been raped, he knows about my crazy father and how my mother is dead.  Ok correction, he doesn't know my mother has died but he knows that something happened to her because she's not here.  I mean if I were him I wouldn't stay with me.  I decided not to think about too hard.  If he breaks up with me then so be it. I couldn't blame him.  I turned my phone off and put it on the charger and turned back around and went to bed.  I had the same nightmare that I had at Fps place but luckily my alarm woke me up from it. I turned it off and got up and started getting ready for school.  

Once I was done I got my school bag and headed out the door I wasn't scared of being too loud because I already knew that my dad was at work.  I put my bag in the back and and texted Archie and Betty if they needed a ride. They both responded with a yes almost simintaniously.  I figued the best way to get things back to the way they were is by acting like nothing happened and thats exactly what i'm going to do. I pulled up between Bettys and Archies houses and I waited a couple seconds before Archie came in and got in the passenger seat.  "Thanks for driving us to school" Archie said when he shut the door.  "Anytime." about that time Betty walked out of the house and got in the back seat.  I knew that Bettys parents wouldn't want her to be hanging out with Archie so I decided to try to hurry up and get out of eye sight of her house.  It was awkwardly quite in the car until Archie decided to break the silence.  "So Ava, how did your weekend go?" he asked and me and Betty quickly glanced at each other through my rearview mirror.  "Fine, I went to the drive in with Veronica and Kevin." he nodded his head "Was it good?" he asked "Yeah it was Rebel without a cause. I could watch James Dean all day." I say and that caused him to laugh.
