Chapter 21

When we pulled up to Joaquins house it was in the same trailer park as Fp but it wasn't close to his trailer.  He parked my car next to his motorcycle and got my bags and we went inside.  I looked around and it was obviously the same set up as Fps but his was a little bit more cleaned up.  "I'm going to put your stuff in the bedroom" Joaquin said as he walked into his bedroom.  When he came back he grabbed a cup from the cabinet and got a pop and poured it into the cup.  "You know I can sleep on the couch."  I said to him and he just looked at me and gave me that don't even start with me look.  I sighed and slowly sat down on the kitchen table "Do you want anything?" he asked "Just a cup of water will be fine" I say with a smile.   He nodded his head and grabbed another cup and opened up the fridge and put some ice in both of our cups.  He poured my cup full of water and then sat across from me and pushed my drink to me.  "Thank you." I told him and he nodded his head and took a long sip of his pop.  "So what do you want to do?" he asked me.  "I don't know it's totally up to you."  I tell him "do you want to watch some movies?" I nodded my head yes.  He helps me up and grabs my drink as we head over to the couch.  He sets the drinks on the coffee table and then helps me down slowly to sit on the seat.  He walks over to the tv and bends down and pulls out a drawer "Alrighty we have World War Z,  Man of Steel, Captain America The Winter Soldier, The Dark Knight" I decided to interrupt him there. "I didn't know you were a marvel and Dc fan." I say with a smile.  This caused him to look back at me "Oh yeah when I was younger I used to buy all of the comic books." he says "I respect that.  Alright I pick Dark Knight.  Nobody could top Heath Ledgers performance." I tell him "Agreed. And Suicide Squad was just terrible." he says as he opens the dvd case and puts the movie in the CD player.  " I couldn't agree more" 

"Ok I am going to let this run while I go and change out of these clothes.  Do you want any popcorn?" He asks. " yes please." I was about to get up to help him but he quickly shot me down. "No no no you stay right there I will only be a second."  He tells me as he goes into the kitchen.  When he puts the popcorn in the microwave he walks into his bedroom to go change.  I get on my phone and go though instagram.  I see that  I got a dm from Archie.  I open it up "I'm sorry that I talked you into coming in with us to the bar.  If I would have known then I would have never have asked you to come." Silly of him to think that I would have let him go into the bar alone. "No apology needed you couldn't have known I will see you soon" I sent the text and as soon as I did Joaquin walks back into the kitchen and starts getting the stuff ready for the popcorn.

  He is wearing t-shirt shorts and socks which were all black.  I think this is the most I have ever seen of his skin.  He is usually wearing a Jean jackets and jeans all day everyday.  But this was a nice change.  I concluded that I was staring at him for too long and that if he hasn't realized now he soon would so I decided to look back at my phone acting like I was busy.  "Here you go." Joaquin says as he holds out a bowl of popcorn.  I reach out and grab it with the arm that didn't have the hurt side because it hurt when I reached for anything especially if I was reaching for something over my head.  I put the popcorn on my lap and he left to go get the tv remote that was on top of the tv and then carefully sat next to me on the couch.  

"This is my favorite scene" I tell Joaquin as the two guys bring the Jokers body in and lays it on the pool table "So dead that's 500." he says and then as soon as he did the Joker shoots up as the guy turns around and the joker put a knife to his face. "How about alive?" this was my favorite story of how he got his scars.  He waited to tell me when my scene was over so he could tell me his.  "mine is the pencil scene." he tells me and nod my head in agreement  "That is my second favorite but it is a close one." 

When the movie was over he helped me off the couch and I put the popcorn bucket and the two drinks in the sink while he put the movie up.  I went into the bathroom and started brushing my teeth as he put the dishes up.  We got done at the same time so when I was walking out of the bathroom he was walking in.  I went back into the living to put my phone on the charger and I saw that I got another text from Archie "Ok thanks, If you need anything just ask." He told me.  "I just need to get a pillow and a blanket from my room and then I will be out of your hair." Joaquin  says as he walks into his room.  I replied to Archie with a thumbs up and then followed Joaquin into his room.   

"You know you don't need to sleep on the couch." I tell him as he looks for a blanket in his closet "I already told you you are not taking the couch." He tells me without turning around I carefully climb into the bed and get under the sheets. "I know.  There is room in here enough for the two of us." I told him and this made him stop looking for a blanket and turned around.  "Ava I don't know if thats a good idea.  I mean with your ribs and your dad and with what happened at the par-"  I stopped him before he could finish that sentence. "I'm tired of letting other people tell me what I can and can't do and besides we are just going to be sleeping in the same bed its not like we are going to have sex." I told him "No I move around too much and if I hit your rib." He says shaking his head "You'll sleep on the opposite side of my ribs and your not going to hurt them I promise now get in here." I tell him as I move the sheets back.  It took him a second before he finally gave in walked to go turn the light off and then laid down next to me.  It was nice having him next to me I moved closer to him so it wouldn't feel awkward and soon fell asleep listening to his heart beat.
