Jugheads POV

I walked into the student lounge and I was the first there because it was still really early.  I got my laptop out and started writing my story.  I was writing about Ava.  About how my dad told me to cover for Ava by saying that me and her we were together Sunday night.  Whatever happened on that weekend it sure as hell wasn't good.  The first one to walk into the student lounge was Kevin and then it clicked; if what ever happened to Ava was big enough to get the cops involved than that means that Sheriff Keller was involved.  Kevin sat his bag down and got on his phone.  Once he noticed that I was staring at him he looked up and asked me whats wrong.  "Did anything happen at the station this weekend?" I asked. He looked at me in confusion.  "No not that I know  of.  Why?" he asked "Let me ask you this, was there something different about your dad this weekend?" I ask him completely ignoring his question.  He sighed. There was something he wasn't telling me.  "When me and my dad walked into our house somebody had broken in.  And all the things that my dad had been working on to try to find Jasons killer was destroyed. You can't tell anybody.  My dad would kill me if I said something." he said.

what? This makes absolutly no sense. This had to be a coincidence. "Did anything else happen?" I ask him "No thats it.  My dad called the station and told them what happened but he wasn't comfortable leaving me alone.  But a couple hours later he got a call from the station and it sounded pretty urgent because he was out of the house within a matter of seconds.  Didn't even bother to tell me what was going on." Bingo I thought to myself.  " Did he tell you when he got back?" he shook his head no "I texted him and asked if everything was alright.  He told me that it was just a minor incident with one of the people at the holding cell."  I nodded my head "Why do you know something I don't?" he asked and I quickly shook my head no "It just looked like there were more cops put than usual." I say with a small smile and Kevin just nodded his head and got back on his phone.

It seems very unlikely that Ava is connected to Sheriff Kellers murder board and plus Fp told me to cover for her on Sunday, not Saturday night.  About that time Ava, Betty and Archie walked in.  Ava looked up and our eyes met but she quickly looked away and sat down next to Kevin and Betty set next to her and Archie came over and sat next to me.  It was relatively quite until Veronica walked in and sat on the other side of me.  "So Ava have you saw your boyfriend again?" she asked once she sat down.  Kevin and Betty were smiling so it was obvious that they already knew but as for me and Archie we looked at her wide eyes.

" No I couldn't I was too busy." she said with a small smile   "Oh come on, then what did you do to make you so busy?" Avas smile immediately went away but only for a second before she quickly recovered.  "Well Veronica if you must know I went to a party Saturday night and hung out with Jughead on Sunday." She said looking at me with a smile.  " oo what party?"  Kevin asked.  "It was on the south side you all wouldn't have liked it." I was watching her facial expressions intently trying to find anything I could to show that she was lying but honestly there was really nothing there.  "Well when you do finally see your boyfriend I would love to meet him." She said with a smile and Ava smiled back and nodded her head.  About that time the bell rang signaling that it was time for 1st hour.

Everybody got up and and headed towards there classes but I grabbed Ava on the arm and this caused her to flitch. That was weird. "Can I talk to you for a second?" I asked she looked up at me and slowly nodded her head and that gave Betty the ok to go ahead and leave.  Once I was sure Betty was out of ears length I asked Ava the question that I have been wondering "What happened to you on Sunday the my dad told me to cover for you?" it didn't take her nothing but a second to respond almost like she has been practicing.  She smiled and chuckled a little bit "When I was at the party on Saturday I had one too many to drink and I called your dad.  He came and picked me up from the party and let me crash at his place.  I was hungover the next morning and I knew that I wouldn't have been able to go back to my house so I waited until I felt better and told my dad that I was hanging out with you so he wouldn't be wondering where I was." The story made since.  It fit, but there was something else there.  I could tell even though she sounded so convincing that if she was on trial everybody on the jury could believe her. But I decided to let it go for now.  "Gotcha, I just wanted to make sure that it wasnt something major because the text I got from my dad sounded like it was pretty bad." I say "Yeah, well you know how my old man is." she said and I nodded with her in agreement. "Alright well I will see you later." she said and walked out of the lounge.
