Chapter 22

I have been living with Joaquin for about a month and a half and honestly it's been great.  I make sure that I am not a nuisance so I pull my weight like go to the grocery store, help with the laundry, ect.  Pretty much everything I need at home without the beatings.  I have been starting to go back to school and because of my situation most of my teachers told me not to worry about the work I have not finished.   I haven't seen my dad at all since the accident mostly because I haven't really been out of the house except for school and the grocery store.   My ribs feel 50 times better now.  I don't have to be as careful as I used to when I sit down and things like that.

Kevin, Veronica, Betty, and Archie were all sitting at lunch "Anyway enough with my drama, Betty you were talking about Jugheads birthday." Veronica said looking at Betty "Yeah, just that Mr. Jones told me that Jughead has never a birthday party."  It sounded so weird hearing somebody call Fp Mr. Jones. 

 Me and Archie both nodded our heads in saying yes that he has never had a birthday. "Ever since he was little." I tell the group "So let's have one for him! Like a low-key surprise party!" she says and me and Archie both start shaking our heads no "Absolutly not." I tell her sternly "That's a fantastic idea" Veronica told Betty completely ignoring me and Archie saying no "Jughead doesn't like his birthday" Archie explained "Everybody says that but nobody really means it. "Well Jughead does.  Trust me when I say that this is a bad Idea." I say while Archie nods his head in agreement. "Okay ignoring the negativity.  I'm thinking inner-circle only" Veronica says throwing out ideas.

"Oh my god don't turn around." Kevin says looking up.  Nobody ever listens when somebody says that so we all simultaneously look at and see Chuck walking through the double doors.  I heard what he did to Betty and Veronica and that they did back to him and it was some crazy stuff.  Anyway he and a couple other football guys ended up getting suspended because Betty and them proved that he was bullying.

 "Holy chuck I think his lats got bigger.  Not that I care because he is evil and incarnate" Kevin says as Chuck walks by and before I knew it Betty got up and started walking up to where Chuck sat down which was over by Ethel. "Oh my God" Veronica said as she saw Betty walk over there.  You couldn't tell what she was saying but it was obvious that she was furious.  She walked back and sat down and we all turned our gaze away from Chuck and turned back to Betty "What was he doing? Acousting her?" Veronica asked "No he was.. Apologizing." she said "Oh i'm so sure" Veronica says as she got a fork full of her salad "You know what can we talk about something else?  Like Jugheads party?"  She said and looked down at her hands I couldnt see what she was looking at because I was on the otherside of the table but she quickly let it go.

 I shrugged my shoulders forgetting about it and unscrweed my water bottle while she was talking "Look theres a lot of this I can't do a lot of things I can't control. But I can Damn well make sure that my boyfriend has the best birthday of his life." she says as I start taking a drink as soon as she said that Archie replied "Screw it.  I'm with Betty my dads away we can do it at my house." that made me choke on my water "What?" I asked him. "I mean come on what's the worse that's going to happen? It will just be us and like two other people.  You can even invite Joaquin." He says trying to convince me.   I take a deep breath trying to think of all the things that could go bad. "As long as it's just a few people.  And don't go overboard. " I tell Betty and Veronica starts squealing.  I knew this was going to be a bad idea but i knew that they were going to do it anyways so all I could do was just make sure that they don't go overboard.

After school I drove by the bar and saw Joaquins bike parked there so I went in.  I was going to tell Fp about Jugheads party but Betty said that she would ask him while he is at work.   I walked into the bar and I see Joaquin playing pool with a couple other guys.   He sees me walk in and sets down the pool stick and walks over to me with a smile " Hey babe how was school."  He asked while he gave me a kiss on the lips "Exausting but I do have a question to ask you. " I tell him "Shoot" he said to me "Ok so it's Fps sons birthday party today and I was wondering if you would want to come with me?" he gave me a hesitant face but I wasn't going to take no for an answer "Come on, I know all of your friends" I say while looking around the room "But you hardly know any of mine" I pull on his head jacket tryin to connivence him.  "That's not fair these are your friends too" he tells me in almost a whiney voice but once he saw that I wasn't going to stop he slowly nodded his head and I smile at him "Great it's going to be at Archies house.  Archie and Betty are going to take Jughead to watch a movie so that will give us time to set up so I say that we head over there around 4 and help them set up." he nodded his head "I will follow your lead" he said with a smile and then walked back to his pool game.
