"Finally " , I screamed
"We're done", Simi replied as we both jumped for Joy
We just finished from the All Bright Senior Secondary School in Lagos, a state in Nigeria, we could not hold in our joy, it was expressed on the face of every graduands that day, we were finally leaving the early morning and late nights ,the whips from teachers, discomfort that came with preparing for and writing our O'Level exams.
We were all happy, I, Simi and Amina had come a long way right from our first day in the All bright Junior secondary school , we clicked from the first day and became a cliché like trio 😂 but the sad thing was Amina was going to the north for her university education in the prestigious Amadu Bello University , while Simi and I chose the University of Ibadan,So that day we made the best out of it,we went out with other friends after the graduation ceremony for smiming after which we went site seeing , secretly in my mind I prayed that the day be enlongated but 24hours remained.
Soo, Simi said sadly ,guess today is our parting day ,I said almost crying, Amina was already in tears it hurt all of us much ,
We'd keep in touch electronically .whatsapp, instagram and facebook is not going any where, Simi said re assuringly
And then we saw Amina of to the airport to take her flight to Kaduna .
But for me pretence was an act I had gotten used to, hiding everything and pretending all was OK.
Simi and Amina were almost the only family I had asides my older brother ,Tega, even though my real parents weren't dead . I had found a way to survive through the pretence
