Hurricane meets Tsunami

Damien was my kryptonite. He was the only one that could fluster me, make me so angry I broke things. He made me want to rip my hair out and jump off a bridge. His smirk made me want to kiss him; he was so cocky, but he was also destructive. Whenever I was ready to leave though, that smooth voice and those soft hands always brought me back in. My alcoholic father had nothing on Damien when he was furious though.

His temper was like a hurricane. The way he would destroy everything in his path made me yearn for him more. As the lamp flew right by my head and shattered into a million pieces after crashing into the wall, I felt a rush in my veins, the adrenaline was coming, and I was feeding off his energy.

Running up to him, I shoved him back with all my strength and he fell over a throw pillow and hit his head on our coffee table. I rushed to his side, looking over his bump. As I touched his long hair to move it out of the way, he grabbed my wrist hard, stopping the blood flow. Looking into his ocean eyes, my heart melted, and our lips gravitated together. Nothing in that moment mattered except that we fit like two puzzle pieces.

Was I out of my mind when I said I loved him with all my heart? As we crashed into every piece of furniture and wall within the apartment having a screaming match, our hands roamed each other's bodies. Every moment was another question in my head as to if he was going to wrap his hands around my throat or pull me in close.

"You think I'm stupid?" He questioned, his voice so low it sent a shiver down my spine. "You think I'm not smart enough to understand what's going on, Jules?"

I felt confused as he gave me a twisted look, "What are you talking about, Damien?" His hand caressed my check and then he grabbed a handful of my hair and crushed his lips to mine.

"What does he have that I don't?" Damien asked me, leaving me breathless. He took a few steps back and basked in his own beauty. "What could he possibly have that I don't?" As my eyes roamed his body, I smiled at his chiseled jaw and stubble even though he just shaved yesterday. His diamond like eyes shined just like his wide white smile. His undercut was all messy due to my hands roaming in his hair earlier, but it made him look irresistible.

"There isn't anyone! But if there was, they wouldn't do this with me," I sigh, thinking back to our scene earlier. "They would treat me good and never fight with me."

I felt Damien's finger tilt my chin up and he begged me to open my eyes and look at him. "Do I not treat you right?" He honestly asked me, worry in his eyes. I took a second and shook my head. Damien treated me like a princess. He spoiled me and gave me all the attention in the world. He made me feel like his top priority. Everything he did he tried to include me and if he couldn't he made sure to let me feel assured that nothing sleazy was going on.

"Everyone fights, baby," He chuckled but I could tell he was trying to hide a cry. Lowering himself, he got on his knees and hugged my torso. As he shoved his face into my hoodie, I could hear soft cries from him. My arms instinctively wrapped around him and I ran my fingers through his hair to try and calm him down. "I mean it when I say I love you more than anything and anyone."

"I know you do." Sinking down to the ground where he was, I grabbed his hands and interlocked them into mine. "I never meant to fall in love with you. We're like a tsunami together. We are so destructive when we fight," I begin, "But I did, ever so slowly but nonetheless, I'm now completely in love with you. I don't want anyone else, you're jealous and overzealous.

You destroy everything, and you have no control over your temper. But you never leave when things get tough, you love me more than anyone could. I feel guilty all the time and try to fix everything, I threaten to leave all the time and I never tell you how much I actually love you."

"I have issues and so do you," He admitted. I nodded in agreement as we just sat there in silence, tears rolling down both our faces as we faced the fact that we were both fucked up. "Our love can solve this. There is no one I would rather fix my problems with than you," He breathed hard, choking back a sob.

I laughed a little and we embraced each other. He pulled me into his lap and hugged me like his life depended on it. "I never want to lose you," His hot breath whispered into my ear. He loosened his grip and we looked deep into each other's eyes.

No one ever taught me how to love. No one gave me a book or pamphlet that gave me the rundown of how hard it would be to be in love. It was like living on a tidal wave. A constant up and down. There was no levelheadedness in a relationship. There were no guidelines and no steps to follow for a perfect relationship. The reason- there will never be a perfect relationship. I had to realize that.

We were going to argue, we were going to be at each other's throats at points because when you love someone, you will disagree on things and get mad. Hurting each other wasn't going to solve anything, though. I needed to get over my fear of being hurt and letting someone in. Damien needed to get over his fear of being cheated on and losing people he loved. We both needed to learn to start trusting and loving instead of destroying.

"I need to know that you're mine," The words that left his lips made my heart skip a beat.

So many times, he had asked me this question and so many times I had told him the same thing. But this time, I just whispered, "Forever and always."

As his hands intertwined with mine, looking like a model in his black tuxedo, I felt butterflies in my tummy as he mouthed the words "You look beautiful' to me. My princess like dress covered in shimmering glitter and rhinestones with rustic pink tones made me feel like I was in a movie.

Damien couldn't wait any longer as the minister tried to finish the words "You may now kiss the bride." Before he grabbed me in his arms and gently kissed me like a fairytale come true. As I heard applause and cheering, we broke apart to see all our family and friends giving us a standing ovation as we walked down the isle to the next chapter in our life.

But, since this is the end of the story, I guess you'll just have to imagine what comes next.
