Jenna was still hurt and angered with Tyler, but she heard him out as he told his story. And as he told it, he felt his stomach churning with intense guilt. Jenna is an amazing woman who doesn't deserve this type of treatment, especially from him, her husband. Knowing that he's her husband just makes everything a whole lot worse. He was absolutely horrible, and didn't expect her to forgive him for what he's done.
When he was done talking, he noticed he was still playing with the wedding band on his finger. He swallowed hard as he laid his eyes on it.
Jenna took a deep breath and sighed, nodding her head. "Okay, I...sort of understand. What I don't understand is why you didn't tell me before. You should have told me from the very beginning that you started to feel differently with me and with Josh." Tyler pursed his lips and nodded. She's right, he should have spoken sooner. If only he wasn't such a coward. "You're right...I'm really sorry, Jenna."
Jenna shook her head. "It's -- Who am I kidding? It's not okay, and it will never be. I'm sorry I sound so harsh, but that's just the truth." Tyler lowered his head, staring at his hands that rested on his lap. "And I won't be forgiving you any time sooner, either, because this is something that's really painful."
"I understand..."
"Do you, Tyler?" Jenna pursed her lips and stared at him with her intense blue eyes. They looked much darker, so much, that it was almost shocking. Eyes really do tell a lot. Tyler sucked in a breath and averted her gaze. "I'm so sorry," he muttered. Jenna shook her head again, almost in dismay, and let out a sigh. "Let's just...Let's leave this behind, for now. I accept that you're with Josh now, though. I think it'll be good for you. You compliment each other really well." She managed to let a small smile form on her face, and, to Tyler's surprise, her eyes spoke to him that her words were genuine. She meant what she was saying. This almost made Tyler cry, but he held back once he felt his eyes tear up. Jenna was truly a really good person. She deserves someone better.
"Thank you..."
"Anyway, don't you have to go now? Isn't soundcheck in an hour?"
Tyler's eyes widened and he quickly took out his phone, checking the time. Soundcheck was indeed in an hour. "Oh crap!" he exclaimed before quickly standing up from his chair. "Thank you for everything, Jenna, I'll--I'll talked to you later, okay?" With that, he rushed out of the café.
Jenna watched him go and heaved another sigh, shaking her head. "Good luck, Josh..."
