"Polaroid"
[Jack Wolf • Michaela Watson]
The gifts you gave me before
They're all on my bedroom floor
The flowers you once sent to me
They're slowly dying on my knees
You think I can move out of your life
The same way you ran away from mine
But, baby, you should know it's hard
When you mean everything I once had
I still search you around the streets
Hoping we can talk one last time about this
I don't know why, but I hope you come back
Just to say goodbye and move away from that
Honey, know that I'm praying for our peace
'Cause this war has been taking me down
I think I may miss our happy Polaroid pictures
But this love of ours needs an end, somehow
Yeah, I could have tried calling you up another time
I should've thought about the consequences of that night
When we realized everything we cared about, was us
Bottles of wine all over my living room floor
Where we used to teach each other how to love
It's hard to believe that you took a 30 hours trip to where I was
Just to get me distracted for a moment, while you let me fall
We were just kids when we thought we knew each other
But I was a hellhound, and you were one of the foxes
Now I think I miss our happy Polaroid pictures
Now my camera is in the back of my memories
Honey, know that I'm praying for our peace
'Cause this war has been taking me down
I think I may miss our happy Polaroid pictures
But this love of ours needs an end, somehow
Although it hurts more than I asked for
I'd still trade my soul for your love
You make New York look like LA
Wonder if you'd let me use your coat tonight
Did you ever love me? Do you know how sharp can be a knife?
Remembering when we had each other to call home
Oh, no, maybe I'm still in love with you
But yes, I wouldn't do all these things again, it's true
Honey, know that I'm praying for our peace
'Cause this war has been taking me down
I think I may miss our happy Polaroid pictures
But this love of ours needs an end, somehow
