"The Taste of Water"
[AMERICAN WOLVES: Michaela Watson • Jack Hector Wolf]
Say that we'll be together, when the waves crack above us
Say that we'll never leave each other fall from high up
Promise me that the ghosts will be just trees
Hold me, kiss me and love me bright, like a fireworks show
Lead me to the church, won't you say those three words?
But when the sun went down, you were laying next to me
I've been following rivers to find someone like you
Been committing crimes, acting like a rebel just to be with you
I don't know the right time to decide to let this obsession go out my mind
Dozens of revelations are in front of me, but I can't recognize which one is a lie
Baby, I need an answer from your lips as soon as possible
Not because my world's falling down, but because I'm afraid to fuck it all
The only way of get rid of this situation is holding on to your arms
But we need to be in the same line to get into this fight
I drown myself on the river just to see if somebody will help me
But, when I see you're the only one that could save me
My mind goes into a state of total fear
'Cause you could jump here to find me and kill yourself in the middle
I want you to love me, but I need you alive to live this
I want you here on my bedroom, but I want you closer than you've been
Let's let things follow their natural way
And find out if forever in love we'll stay
Say that we'll be together, when the waves crack above us
Say that we'll never leave each other fall from high up
Promise me that the ghosts will be just trees
Hold me, kiss me and love me bright, like a fireworks show
Lead me to the church, won't you say those three words?
But when the sun went down, you were laying next to me
I am me, with my sins, my virtues and my pains
So, who are you? Who you used to be? Who you wanna be, babe?
The past is history, the present is taking actions and future's unknown
So let's live our love in the moment and prove new tastes, oh
Hey, I still remember the day we met at the college, do you?
I was all alone, a newbie in a new world, and you were just laughing
Of something your new friends had just said
I must admit, your laugh is only pretty 'cause it's in your face
We can make it work, tell me how you want it
We can make it last, tell me how you want it
I don't wanna ring the alarm before it's necessary
I don't wanna get away if we both still have reasons to stay
I want you to love me, but I need you alive to live this
I want you here on my bedroom, but I want you closer than you've been
Let's let things follow their natural way
And find out if forever in love we'll stay
Say that we'll be together, when the waves crack above us
Say that we'll never leave each other fall from high up
Promise me that the ghosts will be just trees
Hold me, kiss me and love me bright, like a fireworks show
Lead me to the church, won't you say those three words?
But when the sun went down, you were laying next to me
