The lavender candle makes my shoulders relax a little. I'm finally safe where no one can bully me anymore. Every time I entered the halls I got pushed or had my books knocked out of my hands. Hurrying to my next class didn't help. It only made me a quicker moving target, which, if hit, would ear the person a high five from their friend. I tried being late to one of my classes, but then everyone would turn to their friends and whisper. I caught enough of their conversations to know they were trying to figure out whom I had just had a quickie with. Derrick's name came up more times than I would have liked.

Luckily, my real secret wasn't told. I knew that wasn't due to the fact that my old best friend didn't want to. My friends know what would happen in this conservative town if my secret got spilled. I would be forced to move and that wasn't fair to my parents. They had no idea I had this secret; they didn't deserve to be forced to move. I prayed my real secret didn't get passed around the school.

Puling my book from my backpack, I started to get lost in another world. As the lavender wafted around my room, I was on the Brighton Pier in England having the time of my life. The changing light outside didn't disturb my sunny salt breeze day on a rocky shore. The only thing that brought me out of my daze was the sound from my phone alerting me I received a text message. Feeling free and safe, I let a smile creep onto my face when I saw who it was.

Derrick: Hey, do you want to hang out tonight?

I knew I shouldn't because now people were thinking we were having sex during school, but I wanted to. Putting the choice in his hands I texted back, hoping he would still want to hang out.

Me: I don't know. People are thinking we are sleeping together during school. Maybe we should keep our public appearances together to a minimum.

Derrick: We will hang out where no one will see us.

Me: Where?

Derrick: The soccer field in the park. There are no lights there and the stars look great there.

Me: We would have to sneak in.

Derrick: So? Be a book character and sneak in.

Derrick: Please?

Me: Okay. Where should I meet you?

Derrick: Meet me at the sonic. Park your car in the neighborhood.

Me: Should I wear all black as well?

Derrick: Now you are getting into the spirit. The face paint is optional ;) Meet you in 10.

At eight o'clock at night, sonic was very busy, but the road was not. Hopefully this would make sneaking into the park easy. I didn't want to get in trouble or seen by fellow classmates. I didn't need more rumors going around. I could barely handle the rumors now; I didn't need everyone to think we were sneaking off together. Even though that is what we were doing. Everyone would automatically think that we were going in there to have sex. Or even worse, they would think I was going in their with a drug dealer.

"You ready?" Derrick asked, pulling up his hood.

Laughing, I said, "Let's not be too suspicious." I reached up and pulled his hood down. Not being able to resist, I let my hands slide down the front of his sweatshirt. Making sure not to take my eyes off of his, I saw a shift once he realized where my hands were going. His heart was beating fast. He must have been as nervous as me about being caught. His cologne over powered my senses. I leaned in a little closer to get another smell.
