Elsa's P.O.V.

I never thought that opening your eyes could be so difficult. I always thought it was a sudden impulse or force of habit, and even just a typical thing for the human body to do, but with me, I just can't open them. I'm constantly hearing people closing and opening a door, but my eyes refuse to open and let me see what is going on. I can hear people talking as well, more like murmuring, but my mind refuses to let me see what is going on. I don't even know what is happening right now. Am I dead? Alive? Sleeping even? I can't quite tell you. Wait, this is it. My eyes are fluttering. Come on baby let's go. Let's get these eyes opened. Suddenly, my eyes opened and I peered around the room. The room was a cream color, there were flowers everywhere, and annoying buzzing noises were going off on my right side. I saw my mother, father, sister and brother huddled together in a corner talking. One question was running through my mind. Where was my boyfriend?

“Mom?” I said in a raspy tone. “Mom?” I watched as she paused her talking and slowly turned around and then her eyes bugged out. She then started breathing weird and she put her hands on her knees.

“Elsa? Elsa, are you awake?” my dad stuttered.

“Ya? Why wouldn't I be?” I asked as tears formed in my eyes.

“Oh Elsa!” my mom hollered and ran towards me and then threw her arms around me.

“Mom, what's wrong?” I sobbed. “Dad? Someone please tell me!”

“Elsa, you were never supposed to wake up.” my dad mumbled. “We were just about to take you off life support. Your heart was failing.”

“What?” I cried. “How?”

“Els, I can't believe you're awake!” my older sister Sutton hollered and flew her arms around my mom.

“Els, this is a miracle.” my older brother Zeke said. His real name is Ezekiel, but isn't fond of it, so we just call him Zeke for short.

“Someone, please tell me what is going on. I'm freaking out!” I said in a panic.

“Honey, you really don't remember anything?” my dad asked.

“No, please inform me.” I said. My mom weeped into my shoulder, and I stroked her back and my dad cleared his throat.

“Well I'll make this short. About 8 months ago, you had got into a car accident, an accident where you weren't supposed to live from, but you did. Shortly after you went into surgery, you went into a coma and for the first few weeks the doctors were sure you would wake up, but you never did. So they did more tests and found out you had severe brain damage, and you probably would never wake up. Your sister here insisted on keeping you on life support because she swore you squeezed her hand and smiled when she told you a story but that was around 6 months ago when it happened. So today we came here with a pastor and he prayed over you, he left, and before you woke up we were discussing when we would take you off life support, and we decided just now but now you've woke up.” my dad explained. I could tell how confused he was by the way he was talking.

“Zeke, get the doctor now.” my mom demanded. I watched as Zeke ran out of the room and then suddenly rushed back in with two doctors and 3 nurses.

“Well Ms. Blake, it seems that you are one lucky girl. How are you feeling?” the doctor asked.

“I feel good, but I'm very shaken up. I'm confused on what happened and what has been going on these past 8 months.” I explained. Fear was taking over and I just couldn't wrap my mind around this whole situation.

“That's typical. We're gonna run some tests, you're gonna get some rest, and then we're gonna decide if you can go or home or not. Sound good?” he asked.

“Of course, thanks doctor.” I said.

He gave me a slight smile and then he and the other staff exited the room.

“Elsa, I've missed my soccer buddy.” Zeke laughed as he pushed my hair out of my face.

“Once I'm well again, we're gonna play.” I said. “I bet I can still kick your ass.”

“Ya right. I'll take that bet.” he laughed.

“Elsa, could you ever hear us talking while you were unconscious?” my mom asked.

“I could hear murmering but I don't remember ever hearing anything I could actually comprehend. I don't even know what was going on in my mind for 8 months. Was I just dreaming for eight months straight?” I asked. My parents shook their heads and I sighed. As I was looking at my parents, my heart broke a little and I felt the tears again. Something suddenly turned on in my brain like a lightbulb and I literally felt my heart crack.

“Elsa, what's wrong?” my dad asked.

I started crying and I couldn't understand why this was happening.

“Elsa, please. Tell us.” my mom said. I couldn't get the words out because I was crying so hard. I looked to my mom, to my dad, my sister, and my brother. Worry was spread across all their faces.

“Where's Niall?” I asked.
