Elsa's P.O.V.

3 weeks later.

“Elsa, you can't keep yourself locked up in here all day.” my dad said as he adjusted his tie in the mirror. My parents filled me in and told me that they both got part time jobs here. Back home, my dad is a lawyer and my mom is an interior designer and they both found part time jobs here in London.

“Dad, I promise I will go out eventually. I'm just not ready yet. I was in a coma for eight months. You have to be patient with me. Please.” I said.

“You're right sweetie. I'm sorry.” he said and kissed my forehead. “I gotta run. Have a good day.”

I watched as he exited the flat and I was alone again. Everyday my parents go to work and my brother and sister both attend a community college about half an hour away. There was a knock at my door and I sighed and got up.

“Did you forget your keys again dad?” I hollered as I opened the door.

“Nope, I think he forgot to mention me.” the female voice said.

“Luce.” I cracked and then the water works came back.

“Elsa.” she sobbed and then I literally threw my arms around her.

“I can't believe you're here.” I cried into her shoulder.

“I can't believe my best friend is alive.” she cried. We stayed like this for a while and then I welcomed her inside. We then got situated and began talking.

“Elsa, we all thought you weren't gonna make it.” she said as I handed her some tea.. “Thanks.”

“It's so weird Luce. I've missed eight months of my life and I feel like I know nothing. My family talks about all these different things and I have no idea what they're talking about.” I explained.

“I bet that's extremely hard.” she said.

“Lucille, I need you to be honest with me. What happened between Niall and I?” I asked.

She sighed and then took my hands.

“Honestly Els, I don't know. He was at the hospital everyday for the longest time, but when he found out you weren't gonna make it, he broke. I have never seen him the way I did that last day. I was actually there the day he left. We all tried calling and calling but he would never pick up. Sadly, none of us had the other boys numbers so we couldn't reach them either. It just doesn't make sense. He left not knowing if you were alive or dead.” Lucille said.

“So he just left me.” I said.

“Ya I guess. He couldn't take it though. The doctor was sure you weren't going to make it.” she explained.

“I loved him so much and he threw it all away.” I said.

“Els, put yourself in his situation. He lost you the minute you were hit, then he found out you would never wake up again, so he needed to accept it and move on.” she said.

In my heart I knew she was right, but in my mind I was so angry.

“I guess, but I don't think I will ever be able to forgive him.” I explained.

“That's understandable.” she said while nodding her head.

“How long did you stay with me?” I asked.

“I was there over spring break, which was 3 weeks and then I had to go home and finish school. Everyone missed you at graduation. They played a slideshow with pictures of you and friends throughout high school. Actually, I made it and begged them to play it.” she said.

“Awww Luce, that's so sweet of you.” I said and hugged her tight.

“I've missed your hugs. And you. I've missed my best friend to talk about everything with.” she said as she pulled away from my hug. I looked at her and sighed and then patted her knee.

“I bet you have and I'm sorry, but you won't have to be sad anymore. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere.” I said.

“I know and I'm so grateful to have you back.” she said. I then smiled and laughed at her.

“So any boys in your life?” I asked and raised an eyebrow.

“Well, actually, I'm dating Peter Stevens.” she mumbled.

“You're dating Peter Stevens?! The school's bad boy?! How did that happen?!” I squealed.

“I don't know! He was just sitting there one day and he looked lonely so I went and talked to him and we really clicked, and well we started dating.” she said.

“Well as shocked as I am, I'm so happy for you girl.” I said and smiled.

“Come on, let's go to the cafe.” she said and took my hand.

“Alright.” I said. As we were walking, I heard my sister arguing over the phone and when I heard that name, my heart stopped.

“Louis?” I faintly said.

Sutton's P.O.V.

“Louis, I just think it's time for you to stop calling. Elsa is gone and she's not coming back.” I said into the phone. Yes I know. Earlier my parents and I said that we never hear from the boys, but clearly we do. Louis's been calling me everyday since the whole thing. Apparently, Niall told them all that Elsa is dead, so I just go along with it. My sister doesn't need all this stress, especially after just waking up.

“Sutton, I just feel like she is still alive.” he said.

“Well, she's not and I would appreciate it if you stopped calling me. The chapter in our lives that you were all involved with is over. Goodbye Mr. Tomlinson.” I said and ended the call.

“Did you just say Mr. Tomlinson? As in Louis Tomlinson? As in one of my best friends?!” Elsa hollered as she stomped in the room. I looked at her, then my phone, and then her again.

“No, it was one of my professors named Mr. Thompson. We told you Els, we haven't heard from them in months.” I said.

“I just can't believe they never called or stopped over to see me. They were supposed to be my best friends. Especially Zayn, he was like my other half, in a brotherly way though.” she said.

“I'm sorry for the little upset Els.” I said.

“It's okay. Lucille and I are just heading downtown.” she said.

“Alright, have fun and be careful.” I said and kissed the top of her head. “Bye.”

“Bye sis.” she said and headed out the door.
