Sherry turned towards the noise only to see her sister pointing a knife at her right eye. (At the moment, both her eyes are brown.) The little 10 year old just stood there, frozen, as her sister got closer, grabbed Sherry by the hair, and slammed her against the wall.

"Hm...I've always wondered how soft someone's eyeballs are...I wonder how easy it'll be to make them bleed," Vivi snickered.

"W-wait! Please d-don't," Sherry begged with tears rolling down her cheeks. Vivi didn't listen and brought the knife closer to Sherry's right eye, slightly giggling. Then, she pulled the knife back. Sherry thought that Vivi was just trying to scare her and was relieved. Her relief was soon replaced with pain and agony as Violet quickly stabbed Sherry in the eye. She screamed and fell to the floor, desperate to stop the bleeding. Vivi just laughed at her suffering.

"Aww...what wrong Sherylin (her full name in this story)? Can't take a little pain," Vivi teased, "that's too bad." Violent started to beat the daylight out of Sherry, making more blood pour out. Once she was done, Sherry's dress was soaked in blood and she was almost ready to pass out. Tears rolled down her cheeks at Violet lifted her up by her little puppy ear.

"Don't ever keep me waiting again," Violet growled, "Got that mutt?!"

"Y-yes ma'am," Sherry replied weakly. Sherry got up as Violet left. She went to a drawer and found the first aid kit. Once she finished cleaning up, she made Violet's breakfast. As she served her sister, her parents walked down the stairs.

"Sherylin. Did you get the coffee," her dad asked, still tired.

"Yes...sir," she answered, still weak from the blood loss, "I'll go get it." Sherry prepared her parent's coffee cups and served them.

"Sherylin? Why is your hair covering you eye," her mother asked, a little concerned.

"It's not important. No need to worry about it," she said, not wanting to get Violet in trouble.

"Well, at least let me see it. Come here sweetie," her mother said softly. Sherry reluctantly walked over to her mother. She saw her mother's horrified face as she moved her hair out of her face.

"Oh my! What happened to your eye," her mother exclaimed, "Is that blood?! How did that happen?!" Her mother watched as Sherry glanced at her sister.

"Violet! Are you responsible for this?! Why would you hurt your sister like this! You have some explaining to do, young lady," her mother scolded.

"I didn't do anything," Violet lied. Then, Sherry remembered that she used the extra money to buy candy for her sister. Sherry slowly stumbled over to her sister and hugged her.

"Please don't lie...it hurts more than telling the truth...be honest...big sister," she said as she put the candy in her sister's pocket without Violet knowing.

"Get off me," Violet pushed Sherry into a table, "stupid mutt! I told you not to call me si-," Violet put her hand over her mouth. She said too much. Their father helped Sherry up and their mother angrily turned to Violet.

"Apologize to your sister, Violet. Now," the father scowled.

"No way! That useless brat deserved it," Vivi replied. Little did they know that while those three yelled at each other, Sherry had run off deep into the backyard garden.

They won't find me here...she thought as she crawled into a secret passage. Once she was deep inside the tunnel, she slowly started to cry. Wishing that Vivi actually loved her...
