Don't tell me who to love and who not to. Dahil puso ko naman ito.
'Wag akong magpakatanga sa isang gago, you tell me. Masasaktan lang ako. Mabibigo at uuwing luhaan. Tapos magmumukmok ng ilang buwan at magsisisi: "Sana hindi ko nalang siya minahal."
Pero ang pag-ibig ay isang sugal. At lahat naman tayo sumusugal, hindi ba? Kung masaktan man niya ako, then it's my lesson to learn. Not yours.
So please. Leave and let me love. For what pain may come is mine to bear. Mine and mine alone. And this mistake, no matter how stupid, will just be another one of those memories I will faintly smile at as I reminisce in old age.
It reminds us of the extent of our humanity, our stupidity, our fragility.
We love with the risk of hurting. We like to have things that are out of our reach and touch things that may burn us.
Pero 'yun tayo e. Tao.
Tanga. Bobo. Gago.
We make choices that lead to mistakes and call them a part of our lives. A part of growing, we say.
And the fact that most people think and behave that way is what makes the stupidity in humanity normal.
