It was just another lazy morning in the hallways of Riverdale high and while all of the gang were chatting in the common lounge in between one of their classes. Betty Cooper entered in the room like a rocket almost bumping one of the freshman; quickly apologizing she headed back to the group of friends that now had their eyes on the girl.
- Have you guys heard? - She said almost out of breath from the little race she made getting there
- About What? - Kevin answered
- Jughead - she opened a big smile and continued - he's coming back to the school
- Why? - Cheryl said confused but sounding more reproachful
- Just a little less enthusiasm next time Cheryl- Veronica joked but gave her a disapproving look
- Sorry is just that I thought he had to stay there now that he is a serpent and everything- the girl said with a shrug
- You're right, he did- Betty sat down next to Kevin and continued - but apparently the school closed.
With a frown Veronica asked what all the kids wanted - what happened?
- Well apparently one of the teachers was using the basement of the school to cook drugs, they found out yesterday and today Mayer McCoy went there to give the students the notice
- So they're all coming here? - Kevin asked this time
- Some here, others will be attending in Greendale" the girl with the ponytail answered
- So that means new babes? - Reggie who was quiet the entire time said with a smirk and raising an eyebrow
- I guess.. - Betty said a little confused on what should be her answer.
Cheryl only rolled her eyes when her brother responded to Reggie's high five.
Jason sometimes could be so lame with Reggie and the black haired boy would occasionally throw these little jokes but besides that, he was a very nice guy and a really good friend anytime Cheryl needed one, the last one was proven over the years they have known each other.
- Well, I'm for one am glad Jughead is coming back, this way the hole gang is back together - Veronica said but paused for a moment when Archie Andrews passed on the hallway and with a sighed she continued - almost..
- No V, he was never part of this, he was never part of us - Betty said while pointing to the hole group of friends that were giving the raven haired girl supportive smiles.
Five minutes later the bell rang, a signification for them to go to class.
It was history and the middle of the semester but the teacher only put a movie and told them to do an assignment contemplating it.
Cheryl decided she could watch it later at home and instead she glanced at the girl sitting next to her.
She could tell Veronica was still shaken up by the events of a couple weeks ago, when she caught the defender of the bulldogs in bed with another.
- You know, you don't need to suppress your feelings, you don't have to pretend that this doesn't hurt you - the red haired girl whispered to her friend
- Yeah, like you? - The girl was taken by surprise with that comeback but then she just tried a smile
- That was uncalled for but I would say the opposite of me actually
- I'm sorry, I'm just so stressed and I have to see them every day - she took a deep breath - and it fucking hurts Cheryl
- I know baby, he was a jackass and he didn't deserve you - she took Veronica's hand and gave a squeeze - and he definitely does not deserve your tears but you can still shed them for yourself - she paused for a moment to see if the teacher was looking at them, but when Cheryl saw he was in his computer she continued - sometimes you have to feel the sadness to let it go
- Thank you Cheryl, that was actually good comforting - Veronica gave her a thankful look and the girl answered proud of herself
- Hey, stick with me and I guarantee you by the end of the week you won't even remember his name
- Cheryl Blossom are you flirting with me? - Veronica said with a little smile and a raised eyebrow
- You wish, lodge - she winked at the girl right before the teacher told them to pay attention.
Veronica just smiled at the girl and gave her a "thank you" with no sound
After all the boring classes were over Cheryl, Jason, Reggie and Veronica decided to go to pop's together
Kevin had a date so he could not go and Betty was already inside Jughead's trailer by the time.
The red haired girl figured that Veronica could still use a pick me up and there's nothing that bright up their mood more than a milkshake from the best diner in town.
