Wednesday morning the Southside gang went to riverdale high so they wouldn't miss the entire day of classes and after lunch they would all leave for the race.
And that's what they did, the gang on their bikes and the others went on the twins car.
Once they got there it didn't take much longer to some other serpents appear in support, one of them being Fp himself who tried to give the girl some last minute advise and soon enough and they could see the Ghoulies black cars polluting the city with their heavy metal songs.
-Not the kind of drag race I imagine myself going but the guys are hot – kevin said when they got out of the cars and got pushed by fangs who gave him a warning glance
Malachai was coming into the pink haired girl's direction and sweet pea whispered to her.
-Ready?
-Nope – Toni said taking a deep breath when the boy stopped in front of her with his usual creepy smile
-Do you need him to be there to hold your hand? – the rival said and his friends laughed, Toni could feel her friend tense up beside her in angry
-I can kick your ass all by myself Malachai – she replied and they started a battle of stares
Cheryl who was sitting on top of her car had a privileged view of the scene, she could see the fire in the serpent's eyes and even though she was 20 inches smaller than the boy, she stood firmly on her feet. It was hot.
The red haired girl got out of her seat and passed through them.
-Are we going to do this or not? – she said while going to the middle of the road but one of the girls from the other gang stopped her
-Sorry babe, but I usually do the honors – the tall girl said but Cheryl didn't let herself get intimidated
-Not today cha-cha, I was born for this moment – she pushed her and the girl gave her a killer look in disbelief but walked away
The cars were positioned and malachai said roughly to the girl
-You ain't gonna see me though all the dust topaz -
But before they could start reggie ran to the serpent car to give her a quick pep talk.
-Don't let him get into your head, you got this, we're all cheering for you – she smiled at him and he just nodded supportive and went back to his place
Cheryl got her hands up with a red lace wrapped in one of them, when she put them down the race started.
The serpent was faster and started ahead of him, her friends cheering on her and sweet pea's voice standing out.
But soon enough the ghoulie reached her, he gave her a evil grin and started bumping his car into hers, toni started to worry since the bridge was coming up, they had to pass though it, get to the return on the road and then turn back, but the bridge was too narrow for both cars.
Malachai was going faster and was able to go though it first but toni realized his car was bigger and heavier then hers so she waited for the return to step on the accelerator and then she did a very closed curve while at it and was able to pass him, not slowing down any second she saw the group of people on the end of the road and when passing their made up line she could finally breath.
She heard loud screams and soon enough she was pulled out of the car from her serpent members who started chanting her name.
The ghoulies leader came angrily into their direction and they stopped.
