Bonus: Chapter 62

Dragon city bustled with activity now in full-swing once night fell. People swarmed every restaurants, delighting in delicacies and fine liquor.

From time to time, there were people in strange clothes who passed by  them.

"Let us go and see what the city has to offer." Zhao said with a sad smile on his face as he squeezed Shen Wei's hand.

Nodding his head, Zhao quickly led the way and together they entered the busy street.

As the couple strolled about the city, humans and even from Yashou tribe were walking side by side, traveled together, and in some places were split into groups. All the fairy tribe were moving in human shape but many of them had either ears, tails, or other marks which made it clear to others that they were inhuman to those special; someone like Zhao and Shen Wei. As for whether or not they intentionally displayed their inhuman sides, Zhao did not know, but he was very curious about it but choose not to ask.

Zhao was use to a world, where other than the human race, there existed many others races and beast people were one of them. There were also, half-beast humans – the offspring from the coupling between humans and beast people.

As the streets were crowded, Zhao and Shen Wei just went along with the flow.

"You can see that some group of beasts have a few humans amongst them? Watch out, just like humans can have beasts enslaved, beasts can also enslave humans whenever they want to." Shen Wei whispered warned Zhao who was listening seriously to what was said while nodding his head. He could not afford to become someone's slave other than his wife.

"Don't worry too much about these things," Zhao said with a mischivous smile on his face and a squeeze of his hand. "I will kill anyone who wants to make me a slave, but it is indeed always best to be careful."

Shen Wei did not doubt Zhao and agreed with him. There was no reason for the two of them to even end up in such a situation.

"Where do you want to go?" Zhao asked gently changing the subject from something he felt that he disliked, to something different. "We still got a lot of time to spent so we can walk through town and see a few shops or just observe the different architecture in the city."

Shen Wei looked around him and contemplated.

"Xiao Wei, if you have anything you like, you can tell me. I'll get it for you," Zhao proudly said. Although the stuff at the Dragon City  isn't cheap, he's prepared to bleed heavily for once. Even if he spends a little more money, he must get one or two things for Shen Wei. After all, Shen Wei is still not so easy to handle.

"No need. If there's anything I like, I'll buy it myself. I have the money to pay," Shen Wei said, shaking his head. "Besides, I don't need to buy anything right now."

They strolled casually; to the left, sometimes to the right...

"Why don't we eat something?" Zhao asked with a gentle smile on his face. The two of them had never really had the time to just enjoy each other's company alone, especially eating as they had always been busy working or Zhao was running from one dangerous place after another solving bizarre cases so now he wished to reward themselves some quite alone time without the usual third-party fat cat.

After feeling a warm hand squeezing him, Shen Wei returned to reality. He could easily guess Zhao's intentions, and he could feel his care and enjoyment behind his actions. As he felt this, his heart warmed and nodded his head contentedly.
