Refuse to give in
To the demons living inside
the depths of the heart.
Nothing but reminders
How far I have come
in a few short months.
Lost in a mist of doubt
One lonely year ago
Could not step out of the house
Would not even try.
Pain rendered on the faces
of the people who loved me
Brought me back
to reality.
Cleared my tangled mind
Blocked out the voices
Screaming to go hide.
No more.
This is my time
Another chance is given.
Hope strewn onto the words
I will not surrender.
