An immense amount of my soul
Belongs to a world of dreams
Where happiness doesn't seem to falter.
An incredible illusion
Filled with all the fantasies
One could ever imagine.
When I fall into a light slumber
I am gently embraced
By a yellow ribbon of safety
As the gatekeepers of dreams
Open up my overflowing secrets
And let them soar free
In the land where wants and needs
Are adored and cherished.
I am so very grateful
For this kindhearted world,
Allowing me to escape reality
When darkness overshadows
My glimmers of hope.
As my feet mingle with evergreen grass,
My hands kiss the softest of flowers,
And the sounds of nature
Sing a melody so very serene,
I cannot help but grin
And run through the fields
Like a wild girl
Chasing after her dreams.
