Author's Note:
If you don't understand the plot of the book yet, this chapter will start to place things together. This is where it gets weird.
————————————Kira stumbled into third period, her heels seeming like the tiniest annoyance due to all of the things she was thinking about. The elevator, detention.. what was that place? She laid her head on her desk and silently started sobbing. She was terrified, she thought Senis was a good school.
Romeo walked over from the other side of the room and sat down next to Kira, gently patting her back.
"Hey... what's wrong Kira?" He asked quietly.
Kira said nothing, but sobbed even more and snuggled herself against Romeo. None of the other students seemed to notice, or else they just didn't care for the whole "crush" thing.
"Hey. It's okay... Can you tell me what's wrong?" Romeo softly urged, wrapping his arms around her in a hug.
"I- I saw the elevator." Kira stammered. "The one to detention.."
Romeo gently ran his fingers through her hair.
"I'm sorry dear... if the blood freaked you out, we've been told it was just because of a kid who slipped. He was returned from his false detention pretty quickly." He told Kira, still hugging her.
Kira smiled and gently ran her fingers down his chest, causing him to shiver from the sensation.
"Thanks, Romeo.." she said cheerfully, hugging him. He smiled and went back to his seat, just in time for third period to end. They had missed it entirely, and somehow the teacher didn't notice, or else he just didn't care.
He could have sworn she almost winked at him.
After third period, the doors to leave the classroom locked automatically. Students started murmuring among each other before the teacher clapped his hands twice, and said there was an announcement. The students all went silent and sat down.
"The doors have locked for an important message from the school. They have announced a surprise dance!" The teacher said with a grin on his face.
Kira smiled. Her first real school dance. All of the dances at her old schools had either been cancelled or just a complete waste of time of which she left early. But Kira, after seeing the elevator, didn't know if she could trust this school much anymore. She just hoped Society, the group responsible for setting up the dance, did it well.
*Three hours have passed. Kira is getting ready for the surprise dance.*
Kira slipped into a small dress that Addison had said she'd look cute in. She looked herself over in the mirror and quickly realized that Addison hadn't been wrong. She slid on a sapphire ring that Addison had surprised her with, spending almost half of her points on. Kira had felt bad, saying she'd have to pay Addison back somehow. But Addison had simply laughed and said "No, no! It's just a gift!"
Kira sighed happily, "I look better than I have in a long time. Maybe I can go to this dance.." She giggled and opened her dorm's door to Romeo standing by it.
"Hey!" Romeo exclaimed happily, then gasped quietly, "You look... amazing."
Kira blushed. "T-Thanks," she managed to stutter, "So do you!"
They walked down to the dance, where good music was playing and Addison was already dancing her heart out.. Probably a bit under the influence.
The school had provided alcohol in the online shops, but they only allowed one bottle per person. Anyone who had been found to be sharing bottles would have 1,500 of their points taken away... And probably a bad hangover. This quickly scared the students into not sharing their beer.
Kira walked in shyly. She looked at the DJ and suddenly paled as Addison ran over.
"I- I thought Alec was supposed to get detention!" She muttered.
Addison looked at her, "He got out of it somehow. Guess he bribed the headmistress with 30,000 points or something?"
Romeo, Addison, and Kira just looked at each other for a moment, confused to how a person could even get 30,000 points. The most expensive items in the school's shop were about 5,000, and most contracts only paid up to 300 a week.
One student glared at Kira for a second, but as soon as she made eye contact, the student, wearing a name tag that showed Nico, looked away quickly. Kira shrugged it off, thinking that the student could have just been in a bad mood or something.
Addison finally broke the silence, saying, "Hey, Kira, I think I accidentally left something in my locker, can you come to get it with me?"
Kira quickly nodded, "Yeah, of course!" She exclaimed, "I'd be happy to!"
It took Addison and Kira about three minutes to get to Addison's locker. She got the item she'd been forgetting, and they began the trek back to the dance.
But something tripped them both, shoving them into a dark room.
Nico was standing over them both with a rigid, modified PVC pipe.
Oops, cliffhanger! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
