Chapter X

Prologue

"Lilith was standing on the roof of the school with a sleek, black revolver. A loud boom was heard as Romeo fell to the ground, clutching at his leg desperately."

Present

"Romeo!" Nico screamed. He picked up a few rocks and threw them at Lilith. One hit her, managing to make her stumble back in pain. Kira picked Romeo up and ran.

"You're surprisingly light." She teased.

"Probably thanks to my leg.." He managed to mutter.

Nico took out a small pocket knife and cut off the sleeve of his jacket, crudely wrapping it around Romeo's bullet wound.

"We can get better medical supplies when we get somewhere civilized, but for now this is all we can get." Nico sighed.

"I appreciate the effort." Romeo nodded, tying the sleeve around his leg a little better than Nico had. They'd reached the gates of the school and stopped, breathing heavily and trying to control their breathing. The gate started closing, and Kira quickly ran through it without thinking. Nico wasn't going to make it.

Suddenly, out of all people, Alec came running as fast as he could and shoved Nico forward, getting him through the gate, before taking the revolver's other five shots to the torso. He screamed as he fell to the ground, desperately crawling to the gate.

"God damn it." Kira muttered and drug him under the gate, the bottoms of the bars brushing over him, creating small cuts in his back.

Nico picked Alec up as Kira looked at him. "Nico." She muttered. "You've got a couple rubber bands, right? And a knife?"

Nico nodded, wondering what she was planning. She gently set Romeo on the ground, and grabbed a wide stick and the knife from Nico's hand. She cut the stick into a Y shape, and put the rubber bands in the gap.

She was making a slingshot. "Found this in the kitchen." She muttered, pulling a butcher knife from her purse.

"What the hell?!" Nico muttered. What he didn't know was that Kira was basically the God of slingshots. She put the butcher knife in front of the rubber bands and, after aiming for a few seconds, sniped Lilith, the knife digging into her arm. A loud scream was heard, and Kira picked up Romeo again and the four of them just ran for their lives.

Alec could be heard muttering curses to himself. "Get to that tree. Now." Kira muttered as Nico nodded. She took Nico's knife again, this time cutting her own sleeves off, leaving what was essentially a sleeveless dress. It was now her turn to save a life, and she did, tying the sleeves between the wound and Alec's arm.

He moaned out in pain, but Kira put her arm around him, patting him on part of his back where he didn't have a bullet wound, and he simply smiled. Suddenly he gasped.

"Look. Over there, smoke from a fire." He squinted, "And I think I can just make out a barn. Maybe there's still someone there?" Nico took his part holding up Alec while Kira picked up Romeo. They ran to the smoke and barn, hoping someone who knew how to help was there.

Silently opening the barn doors, Kira at first saw a girl, milking a cow. The girl stopped, and Romeo looked at her.

"She looks like..." he trailed off for a moment before realizing, "An older version of Addison. Doesn't she?" Kira nodded.

"That's because I am Addison." She said in a heavy British accent.

"The robot did not sound like that." Kira giggled.

The real Addison started laughing. "I suppose you mates came from there, did you? The school?" 

Kira solemnly nodded. Addison continued,

"I escaped from there, and I suppose they built a bloody robot to remember me by. I've seen them doing it before. To other students who escaped. I was the eighth."

Before Kira or anyone else for that matter could say anything, she looked at Romeo and Alec.

"Well, you two still in one piece wanna help me with Romeo and Alec? I mean, Alec looks like he's been through the first World War."

A/N Don't you think for a second that a sequel isn't coming. This is my favourite series, I'm not just gonna leave it there.

Also what happened to my 1,000 word promise. This is about 700.
