Chapter 8 ~ 6 Months Later

"Here we go Lena Lou!" I said as I put her in her car seat. Today we're going to pick up Casper and bring him home. I'm super excited I'm just a little worried about getting caught taking my own horse home.

I got in the drivers seat and hooked the trailer up. We got hooked up and I texted Mark and told him that I was taking it so that he didn't think that it had been stolen. I said a little prayer and drove off.

***A very long drive later***

We're finally here! It's 7:30 am and I just pulled into my hometown. People knew it was me cause my truck and trailer are very knowable.

I got to the hotel and checked in showered while Lena slept. I also bathed her and I put her in an adorable unicorn romper.

I got myself ready to go for the day and I ate some breakfast with Lena and stayed in the whole day till about 8:30 pm.

It's been nearly 12 hours since we got to Hudson. I got myself dressed in black and I put Lena's black dog pjs on her.

We got loaded up and ready go.

I pulled into our drive and made sure that no one else was out there. Nobody's gonna be out there now.

I got out and Lena was awake as always at this time. I got her out and grabbed my halter. I went in the barn and apparently they decided to finally fix the flood lights outside and they went off.

"WHOS THERE!" My dad came outside yelling. Everyone followed him out and he scared Lena so she started crying. I calmed her down and when he started coming out I hurried and put the halter on Casper and right when I was taking him out of his stall my dad turned the lights on.

Oh crap. I was not planning on this. "Kassidy?" He said softly, "Dad" I replied, "What are you doing here? Where did you go? Let's go inside." He said in a jumble. "I'll explain when we get inside I said and put Cas away in his stall and walked in with dad.

"It's all fine." He said as we walked in and I hide behind him with Lena. "What was it?" My mom asked, "Kass" he said and I slowly came out from behind him.

"Hi" I said quietly, "Lena! Can I hold her?" Brooke asked, "Yeah" I replied and sat down next to her and Caleb came and gave me a hug. "I missed you!" He said, "I did too." I said, "I think Lena wants you." Brooke said cause she started crying a little bit.

Moms so mad that she can't talk. "Ok, who's this?" Dad asked, "Ummm. This is Lena." I said, "Are we related to her?" He asked, "Maybe..." I said, "How?" He asked, "She my baby" I mumbled under my breaths. "KASSIDY!" He yelled, "What were you thinking! Is this why you ran away?" He said angerly. "Yes" I replied, "And it obviously happened a while ago." He said, "1 1/2 years..." I said quietly, "And this is why Brooke left for 2 months about 6 months ago?" He asked again, "Yeah" I replied, "BROOKE! You knew about this!" My mom finally yelled out. "I'm sorry that I actually care about my sister unlike you." She said, "Ok calm down!" Caleb said, "So this is our niece and their granddaughter?" Caleb asked me, "Yes, can I go now? I just came to pick up my horse." I said, "No you can't go." My whole family said, "Why and give me a good reason!" I said, "Because we ALL care about you and I'm not letting you go without meeting this little cutie!" My dad said, "Fine but only like one night." I said, "YES!" Caleb said.

Brooke went down to the hotel and picked up my bags and I got Lena to sleep.

We unpacked my bags and I showered and went to bed.
