Rain

Rain.

It felt as if the cold dark ground would swallow him whole. The harsh pelting from the rain did nothing as he clutched his body, screaming into the void. He was shivering, yet he felt nothing. He continued to scream not even recognizing his own voice anymore, barely hearing it over the rain.

That's all there was left.

Rain.

John woke with a start. The bright light emitting from the ceiling bounced off the white walls and floor causing him to squint. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand before scanning the room. It was plain, all white with a small touch of gray in the trim. There was a bed, a bedside table, and a small three-drawer dresser. There weren't even windows. "Where am I?" He wrapped his arms around his leg, pulling his knees to his chest. This has to be a dream, right? Maybe, he hadn't woken up completely.

A strange set of noises started to pour from inside one of the walls as an invisible door opened. John looked toward the only opening in the room, hoping for some insight as to where he might be. A tall boy with light blonde hair and sunglass approached him, letting his only exit close. "Thank god. You're finally awake." John furrowed his brows at the guy.

"Who are you?" John asked curtly. The boy frowned, sitting down on the edge of the bed. John moved away from him slowly, stranger danger and all that.

"Dave. You're best friend." He blinked, looking the blonde, Dave, up and down. He honestly had no clue who he was. He claimed to be his best friend, but John had no recollection of even having any friends let alone one he called the best. He shrugged, shaking his head.

"Sorry. You don't ring a bell."
