Dave's pov-
I took John into the hallway. He looked at it in awe. He hadn't been out of that room since he got here. Of course he had been asleep for most of it. "Alright, this is the moment of truth. You get to walk this hallway." He looked up at me. "But..." I grabbed his hand. "Don't worry, I'm right here with you. I won't let go of you." Shit. That sounded like something pulled out of the dumb Leonard DiCaprio movie. I only knew that because I used to have a bro-man crush on Leo. It was weird but he was hot. "You promise?" I looked down at him. What was up with him and all this 'you promise' crap? I didn't say anything about it though. "Of course." He looked down the hallway. "It just looks so big." I shrugged. "It might look that way, but it's not. If you can walk this then you can walk anywhere." Wow I sounded like Vriska trying to get Tavros to walk on his fake legs. Even though she paralyzed him from the waist down. I sighed. Stop thinking of other people, I'm here for John not them. This was harder than I thought. "I can do this." He looked up at me. "I'm ready."
John's pov-
Dave held onto my hand as I started walking. My legs still felt weak and I didn't have the best balance. But Dave never let go of my hand. Even after a fell. I almost decided to give up but Dave reassured me. "It okay, John. It takes learning how to walk. Everyone has fallen down doing it. Just try again." I sighed as I stood up. I took another small step with my right foot, followed by left and my right again. I was taking very small steps down a huge hallway. This was gonna take forever. It was too long.
