~Kai*~
I drummed my fingers on my desk, tapping my pencil against my cheek. I think it goes without saying that I am currently, bored out of my mind. I'm currently in science class with West, along with two other guys from the football team. Our teacher, Mrs. Vega had given us the task of working on our group project while she grades our last test but, honestly, nobody was actually doing much of anything.
One of the guys, Jason, thoughtfully balanced a pencil on his lips, while the other, Dallas, scribbled what looked like a crime fighting rabbit on a piece of paper. West clicked his tongue and drummed his pencils on the table.
"-I just don't really know, man," Dallas continued, peering up from his drawing. He pointed a pencil at Jason. "I just feel like it's kind of stupid. I mean, why would I ever need to pick between fighting a tiger and a bear? It just isn't realistic-,"
"Nobody said it was," Jason interrupted, sucking in a breath as his pencil fell to the floor. "Use your imagination. It's gun to your head, you have to pick. So? Which is it?"
"I'd fight the bear," West piped up, twirling his pencil in his hand. Jason and Dallas glanced over at him, while I quirked a brow. West gave a shrug. "What? It's an easy choice. Bears can't run down hill. All you have to do, is find a hill-,"
"I thought that bears couldn't run up hill?"
"No. It's down hill."
"Are you serious right now, man? Why wouldn't they be able to run down hill? Everything can run down hill-,"
"Well, why wouldn't they be able to run up hill, huh? Can you answer that for me?"
I rolled my eyes as the bickering continued, getting louder and louder with each rebuttal. The three of them had been arguing over this stupid question for about fifteen minutes and, if I'm being completely honest, it was getting old. My attention was torn away from the, uh, riveting conversation, when the door to the classroom creaked open. I glanced over my shoulder, my heart skipping a beat at the familiar face entering the room.
There he was, standing awkwardly against the door frame, his bag slung over his shoulder. He raised a hand, a yellow slip between his fingers. The room immediately silenced as he took a step inside, waiting eagerly for whoever it was that was about to be summoned to the office.
"Uh, Mrs. Vega?" He started, his eyes flickering over to me. Mrs. Vega peaked up from her desk, placing down her red pen, and turned her attention to Blake. He jerked his chin in my direction. "Kai Avery's needed in the principal's office."
Mrs. Vega nodded, waving a hand towards me, as she returned her attention to her tests. "Alright. Kai, you can go. Take your things."
I gave Blake a sideways look, but he had already turned to walk out the door. I furrowed my brows but hesitantly stood, gathering up my things.
"Oooo, Kai's needed in the office," Jason snickered, kicking me under the table. I curled my lip, shooting him a glare, only to be met with kissing noises. Dallas clapped me on the shoulder.
"Big money riding on this, baby. Knock 'em dead," He said with a wink and my cheeks immediately caught fire. I scowled at West.
"Seriously? We're actually doing this?" I demanded bluntly, my stomach turning. I threw my bag over my shoulder and crossed my arms over my chest. I narrowed my eyes at him, feeling my blood begin to boil. "Who the fuck else have you told, you little bitch?"
"Just a few people, I swear," He said with a shrug, holding up his hands. "What? I think you guys are a cute couple. The world deserves to know."
I curled my lip at him, flipping them all my favorite finger. "You're all assholes."
