Hearthstone (Magnus Chase) Short Stories [HIATUS]

I know life can be horrible

I know life can be horrible. I know it can screw you over. I know it can go all wrong.

Like when we were on the streets, trying to keep Magnus and each other safe. Trying not to get in trouble.

Like when Magnus died and we knew we would be done for if we didn't find him.

Like all the horrible things to happen on our journeys.

Like all the things that happened before we met.

And after: when Hearth got cold after we stayed out in the snow. And I was terrifed as he was out for so long. And being on the streets meant there was no real heat or sun for him.

Or when we were seperated and he had to go back to Alfheim and all those horrors.

I know life can be horrible but..

Now when he's sick, we can turn on all the heaters and pile on all the blankets.

We're hardly seperated anymore. And he'll never have to go back.

I know life can be horrid but..
Looking down at the elf in my arms, at Magnus and Alex and Sam strewn across the floor. Pizza and popcorn lazily eaten as we talk and laugh and mess about.

I know life can screw you over. But mine certainly hasn't.

Short because I'm late on updates.. and sleepy.
