Next Mission

After Silver was ran out of Atlas, the brunt of the Atlesian Military force deployed to hunt him down along with his small band of soldiers. Winter Schnee and General Ironwood lead the deployments out against the rogue soldier. Currently, however, you were inside a flight back to Vale and Beacon. Ironwood and Ozpin believed it best to go there since it was far off from Atlas and the rest of the Schnees. You were sitting next to Weiss on the flight as Gure sat in the seat in front of you.

Ruby was zipping around Gure, asking various questions to Gure much to the annoyance of Weiss and even Blake and Yang. Regardless of that, you were leaned back in your seat thinking about the losses you just suffered. Weiss was able to catch you in the act and took your hand in with her's.

Weiss: You doing ok?

(Y/N): Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?

Weiss: (Y/N)? You know you can always talk to me about this? Right?

(Y/N): Yeah. I know. Don't worry about it Snowflake.

Weiss: I know. But you're giving me this idea that-

Ruby was cut off by Ruby as she dashed forward past you two and stopped just at the head of the ship and sat across from Gure. Weiss's teammates seemed intrigued by the Ex-White Fang captain, asking him questions, him telling stories and several other aspects.

Ruby: What's your favorite color? What's your favorite ice cream flavor? Who'd you kill in the White Fang? How long where you at Atlas for?!

Weiss: Ruby! Stop being a pest! (To Gure) Sorry Gure. I know you're a bit overwhelmed.

Gure: No, it's fine. I've been more overwhelmed than this. Remember boss, that one time near Mantle's mines.

(Y/N): (Chuckles) I try to forget that day. Man were we out gunned.

Gure: Outgunned, out numbered and way WAY out of our league. But heck, here we are.

(Y/N): Yeah. (You get up and walk to the back of the ship) Excuse me.

Gure: Boss?

Weiss: I'll get him. You still got questions to answer.

Weiss got up and followed you out back. Gure turned back around to see a giddy looking Ruby.

Gure: (Coughs and clears throat) Black, Cookie Dough, Twenty-Two people, including politicians and corporate asses, I was in Atlas Academy for a year and a half and in total about 5 years.

Ruby: Whoa.

Blake: Impressive resumé, Captain.

Gure shrugged and gave a cocky grin.

Gure: I try, Ms. Belladonna. I try.

You entered the rear arena inside the ship that you and Weiss trained in before you first entered Beacon. You looked around the room and generated a window so you could see the sunset on the horizon. You took a deep breath and continued to look out across the oceans. You sighed to yourself, still thinking about the day before. How Silver, your old partner and friend, teammate, turned traitor against Atlas and willingly KILLED one of your other friends and teammates, Burly.

It was truly more depressing than you actually thought it would be. Plus side was that Weiss was safe and Gure was permitted to join you as long as you kept an eye on him. You were deep in thought and because of that, you never noticed that Weiss entered the room with you.

Weiss: Hey.

(Y/N): Oh, hey, Weiss.

Weiss: You doing alright? You haven't said much ever since the attack.
