all about yoga and its benefits (and with that i don't just mean wearing yoga pants lmao)
- a thread
• there are plenty of studies (e.g.oxford university) that show the health benefits even for people who practice yoga only once a week
- less stressed out
- lowers blood pressure
- makes you sleep better at night
- helps with musculoskeletal issues
(even lower back pain)
- can help relieve asthma
- the mental health benefits are
HUGE
- can help controlling your anxiety
and many people say yoga helped
them improving the way they
now deal with panic attacks
• don't worry that you might not be flexible enough: yes, there are some kinda diffult poses in yoga but there are so many types of yoga!! some types do encourage a hard workout but there are also a lot of very relaxing and meditative ones
(you've ever heard of pranayama?t his type is all about gentle stretching and focuses on breathing)
• so,,, what is my experience with yoga?
tbh i only started last month but i can really see a huge difference in my life even if it has only been a few weeks:
i am:
- so much more motivated to change
my life, to actually do something
and sticking to my goals
- feeling so much healthier!! it's not
just the fact that i am finally active,
it's more that i feel like i want to
live (and eat) healthy; it's hard to
explain but my mindset and my
actions totally changed with yoga
- happier; i felt so weird the first few
days because i was so relaxed and
happy,, the motivation i gained was
extreme and i've never been a
unhappy person but yoga brought it
to a whole new level
- much more flexible and my body
just overall feels amazing
• "how do i start doing yoga without a yoga studio in my town?"
there are so many great videos on youtube and i'm currently doing the 30 day yoga challenge by 'yoga with adriene' and i can really recommend it!! i've never to a yoga studio either haha
