what to when you're feeling sad
- a threadthese tips work wonders, trust me. it took me years to figure out how to handle those emotions and i'm still kind of helpless when i'm feeling this way but making a list to come back to has helped. this helps when i'm having anxiety, when i feel feelings of depression kicking in or even when i'm just having 'one of those days' when i'm sad for no reason.
feel free to leave your own tips so that we can all help each other!- don't go on your phone, unplug
from social media. i usually feel
anxious and sad when i spent too
much time online. it's usually not
the reason for it but it triggers it.
a lot. so turn of your phone.
- meditate
- go outside
- dance your feelings away:
a) make a playlist with music that
makes you happy and that you
can jam to.
b) dance! move your arms all weird,
shake your head, in fact shake
your entire body. jump. don't care
how you look while dancing or if
you're a good dancer. it doesn't
matter. just shake your feelings
off. it's literally one of the only
things that helps me when i feel
my anxiety/depression kicking in.
or even when i'm just feeling low/
sad for no reason. we all have
those days. it's okay.
- personally i like decluttering and
tidying up when i'm feeling down. it
really lifts my mood when i feel like
having my life together lol
but obviously if you're experiencing
anxiety or depression that's usually
not possible. and that's totally okay.
- shower, wash your hair, do your
skin care, put on clean clothes.
if you've done those things - i'm
proud of you.
- watch your favourite movie that
makes you laugh (it's even better
when you watch it with your
siblings, your family or your friends)
- listen things you're grateful for.
it can be anything: access to clean
water, a roof over your head, family
or friends, education etc.
- journal to understand your feelings
better. what are you feeling? why
are you feeling this way? what has
triggered it? what can you do to
make you feel better?
- and of course:if you feel like it's not
just a 'sad day' and it could be
something more serious like
depression or anxiety:go to a
therapist (i know not all of you have
free health care and some of you
may not be able to afford it but
maybe there are some special
options in your area you live in)
;question: what do you do when you're feeling down?
