"So where are we going, now?" I ask. Liam showed me to his car and we're driving deeper into the Chicago traffic.
"My hotel." He says like that clears it all up.
"What's your band's name?" I ask after an awkward silence.
"One Direction, we're pretty famous, not to brag." He says.
"Who am I, exactly?" I ask. I'm don't know how my life could've changed so massively in the past two years, but it sure did.
"Jo Burgundy, an aspiring young writer, girlfriend of Liam Payne. You like two sugar cubes in your tea, you hate Sun Chips, you find cats easier to talk to than people. You like to be alone and think. You love you dye your hair weird colors. You would win The Hunger Games, and you could eat pizza every day for the rest of your life. You vastly enjoy older music and you want to move to someplace secluded." He says.
"I could win what?" I ask.
"The Hunger Games, oh, never mind, you probably don't remember." He mumbles, disappointed.
"Sorry." I whisper. I am sorry. I'm sorry that I got into a car accident. I'm sorry I forgot you, Liam. I'm sorry I can't remember myself. I'm sorry I don't remember The Hunger Games. I'm sorry.
"That's alright, Jo." He replies.
We pull up to a fancy hotel with dozens and dozens of people surrounding the entrance.
"I'm having Calum come down and help getcha in." Liam says, taking out his phone.
"Do I know Calum?" I ask. It's a strange name, so I'm sure I would remember it. Well, I guess I wouldn't, considering I'm stuck in 2012.
"Um, yeah, you do." Liam says. He gets out of the car after putting on a cap and sunglasses. He comes around my side of the car and hands me sunglasses.
An Asian boy runs through the crowd and comes to the car.
"Hi Jo." He says, but he doesn't sound Asain, so now I'm confused.
"Are you Asian?" I ask bluntly.
He rolls his eyes dramatically and says, "Not this again, we've been through this."
"Well, I don't remember, sorry." I say harshly. Calum takes one side of me and Liam holds my left hand to guide me through the growing crowd. They yell all sorts of things I don't understand, I just try to ignore it until we're safely inside.
We turn and go down a long corridor in silence. Liam slips a room key out of his pocket and opens a door to a massive room. Calum, I'm guessing, returns to his own room.
"This is Louis and I's room." Liam says.
"Who's Louis? And who was Calum? How do I know them?" I ask, taking a seat on the plush bedspread.
"Louis is in the band with me, and Calum's in a different band. But we're very close." He says, taking out a water bottle from the fridge.
"What's your band called, again?" I ask.
"One Direction. Calum is in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer." He says. He seems so calm, having to explain everything in my life to me. It still hasn't really sunk in that I have amnesia. It seems like a dream.
"Where's Lewis?" I ask, unsure of where Liam's roommate is hiding.
"It's Louis, and I think he was out getting a bite to eat." He says.
I nod and look around the room.
I'm about to ask him about myself when the door swings open.
Louis, I'm guessing, comes in with one hand over his eyes and yelling, "Get dressed and put it away, Liam. I'm coming in!" He smiles and laughs like it's a joke but I can tell Liam is unamused. I blush at his words.
"Louis, please be mature." He says.
"Sorry, right now, I'm Louis. I'm the one you dance on the table with when your wasted." He introduces himself but I decline his handshake.
"Excuse you?" I say, bitterly.
"Sorry, love. I guess you're not used to unfiltered mind anymore." He apologizes.
"No, I'm not." I counter. I get a small, painful sensation in the back of my head, but I try not to let it show. I don't want to seem weak, it's probably just a bruise from the accident. It's nothing.
"Anyway, Harry and I were going into the city to check out the sites, wanna come?" Louis takes a red apple off the counter and takes a sizable bite out of it.
"I think Jo would be more comfortable staying here." He says, and I agree. I don't even know these people, they could be psychos for all I know. Liam just shows up and says he's my boyfriend and I believed him.
I'm not quite sure what happened next because I crumpled to the ground and my head hit the floor.
