Chapter Thirteen

We just about run through the biting air to my trailer. I drop my towel and run to the bathroom, turning on the water and stepping in the hot shower. I just stand there, feeling my muscles and tendons warm back up. I leave the water on and wrap a towel around my body, letting Liam get in there while it's still going.

In a mad dash, we exchange places and I get dressed, well, half dressed.

Liam turns the water off and comes out with a dark blue towel wrapped around his waist. I've got no time to stare, I go into the bathroom and do some lady things before I make a mess. The entire time, we were both laughing our asses off.

I settle down on the couch; it's not even dinner time yet. I cough a little and my throat feels scratchy. Liam notices and brings a blanket over from the basket where my blankets are kept.

I groan and lay on my side, holding my abdomen.

"What's wrong, love?" Liam asks in concern. He crouches down and gently strokes my cheek. I eye him and little and he smirks before pinching my cheek and pulling it up and down, making an awfully silly noise.

"What the heck?" I swat his hand away and he chuckles.

"No, really, are you feeling alright?" He asks again. I shrug.

"My uterus is just trying to kill itself, again. That's the tenth time this year!" I exclaim, fake horror on my face. He laughs a little and sits down in front of the couch. He crosses his legs and holds his head up with his hands. He looks so young and innocent right now. He's at my eye level and we just look at each other for the longest time. I memorize the curve of his jaw and the light in his eyes.

I pull the blankets up to my chin, closing my eyes and pretending to fall asleep. Liam sighs, but it's not a sigh of annoyance. I can't quite tell what it is, but I know he's not annoyed.

Then, after pretending to fall asleep, I actually do fall asleep.

"Well, maybe if I just slide right in there next to you..." Liam crawls over into my bed and envelopes my body into his side. He reaches his arm around my waist and gently massages the hurting area. I hated this time of the month.

"Mmm, that works." I say. My cramp is subdued and I try to get some rest. Liam goes between rubbing my stomach and back the rest of the night. We're in Tokyo and I just flew over here for a few days. My sleeping pattern is completely messed up. He's used to being awake right now, but I'm usually in my fourth hour of sleep by this time. He's got a concert in an hour but I decided not to go. I have a mix of period pains and stomach flu. I barely survived the flight.

"How long before you have to leave?" I whisper against my pillow.

"About twenty minutes." He replies after glancing at the clock in our hotel room.

"Guess I better fall asleep before you go, or else I probably won't sleep at all." I mutter.

"That's okay, I'll be back soon." He says.

"But I'm fricken exhausted." I yawn to explain my point.

"Did you sleep last night?"

"No, I was in the bathroom shitting my guts out." I respond. I can just picture the grin on his face.

"I just want to know that my baby is okay." He presses his forehead against the back of my head.

"You're baby's okay."
