I sleep until noon. When I wake up I can smell food. The smell draws me downstairs to where I am welcomed to at several different dishes were sitting on cooling racks.
My mom was putting something else in the oven when she sees me.
“Uhh,” I simply say.
“I met a very nice lady at the store and invited them over for dinner. They live about six houses down the road. I wanted to make sure there was enough food for when they came.”
“Mom I think there’s gonna be plenty food.” I say taking a roll.
“Well there will be enough if no one is taking it before supper.” She takes the roll from my hands before I can take a bite. I frown and walk back to my room.
When I get back to my room there is a box sitting at my door. It was full of school supplies.
I forgot that I had to start a new school next week. The best part was that I wouldn’t have to worry about making new friends. I had Taylor.
I go inside my room dragging the box and start unpacking it, then packing it into the backpack I used last year.
I slide the bag under my bed and pull out my phone.
I had gotten a text from Michael an hour ago.
So how’s Bradford?-Michael
I text him back even though he probably wouldn’t answer since he had texted so long ago.
I’m still not too sure. I haven’t really been anywhere.-Amber
I put my phone down beside me and lean back onto my pillow. A few seconds later it buzzes. Wow I didn’t know he was still waiting on me to answer.
Oh so wyd.-Michael
Lying around. Texting you. Take your pick. What about you?-Amber
Sitting home.-Michael
Hey have you seen the news-Amber
