I go back to the diner, expecting chaos, but I am surprised when I see the diner looked just like it did when we walked in. People don't even look up when I walk in.
I walk to our recent table but it's empty. I look around. Where did Taylor go? I eventually spot her in a booth in the corner. But she wasn't alone.
Sitting with her was the Harry guy that was helping her earlier. They were both laughing about something. I wasn't sure if I should interrupt them. They looked alright. I was about to turn and leave, but then Taylor sees me. She sees me see her see me, but she looks away anyways.
But Harry sees her looking my direction.
He smiles and waves me over.
I had two options. I could walk over to them and interrupt whatever they were doing, or I could pretend Harry didn't tell me to come and leave them to whatever it is they were doing. But I knew that I had to go with the first option.
I know he saw me see him see me.
I hesitantly walk over to them.
"Hi." Taylor says.
"Hi." I say waving awkwardly. I did that because it was awkward. This whole situation was just awkward.
"This is Harry, Harry this is Amber."
"I think we already met." Harry says smiling again. I could tell why Taylor liked him. He was tall, and charming, with sparkling green eyes. Not to mention I could easily tell that he was charismatic. He and Taylor were obviously perfect for each other.
"Yeah, I guess so." I say, giving Harry a small smile.
"Are you staying for breakfast?" Taylor asks scooting over some.
"No, I was just gonna go home. Just wanted to tell you, so, uh, yeah." I say backing away slowly.
"Oh, ok then." Harry says.
"Yeah, it was nice to meet you, Harry." I say waving. "And I'll see you later." I say looking at Taylor.
"Ok, bye." Taylor says.
I leave the diner but before I do I look back to see the waitress staring at me. I open the door faster and walk through quickly leaving the mall as fast as I could.
*******
I was walking for about 10 minutes when I realize that I had no idea where I was going.
I just kinda wander around in different directions. A sports car passes me by. But then it began to back up.
I try to keep walking but the person inside rolls their window down.
"Lost?" They ask. I stop walking, and turn around surprised. It was Zayn.
"Yeah, pretty much." I say.
"Get in." he says before rolling his window back up.
I was going to tell him that I didn't need a ride, and that I could find my way home, but then the wind picks up and I shiver.
I walk over to the other side of the car and get in.
The second I closed the door Zayn was driving again.
"Nice car." I say pulling the seat belt on.
"Thanks." He says, turning the radio on.
"How'd you find me?" I ask, trying to make some sort of conversation.
"Just saw you walking around, figured you were lost." He says, looking ahead.
"Ok." I say.
There was an awkward silence the entire ride. He eventually stops. But the house we were in front of wasn't mine.
