The week rolled by fairly quickly, as if the world was just waiting to see my suffering. So the next thing I knew, it was Friday of the next week.
I grab a book from the library shelf and read the summary on the back of it. Deciding that it seemed like a fairly good book, I tuck it under my arm and walk over to the librarian's desk, checking the it out.
I begin my walk back to Home Economics turning the book over in my hands. Someone taps me shoulder and I jump, almost hitting them with my book until I see the familiar blonde hair.
"Niall!" I half shout at him for scaring me.
"That's my name." He says smiling.
"How are you out of class?"
"Bathroom break."
"Then why aren't you, you know, in the bathroom?"
He shakes his head. "Bathroom break is foreign for get out of class for 10 minutes."
"How nice." I say shaking my head.
"You aren't skipping out, are you?" He asks, and I knew what he was talking about. I was just hoping that he'd forget.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say my voice trailing.
He shakes his head, as if he was disappointed. "You aren't skipping." He says staring at me.
"But Niall."
"No." He says. "The party starts tomorrow at 7. You and Taylor are going to be there, right?" He gives me no time to answer. "Good deal. See you tomorrow."
He walks in the direction of the school's back doors and I raise an eyebrow. "Where are you going?"
He points up at the ceiling and turns opening the doors and going through them. Once the doors close the final bell rings, signaling the end of the week.
*******
"Please tell me that we are going to Niall's party." Taylor says to me as we were walking home.
"Come on, we don't even have anything to wear, there is no point in this, end of story." I say trying to come up with anything to get out of this.
She grabs my arm quickly and begins dragging me the opposite direction.
"I can fix that." Taylor says letting me go as she figures I won't try to go back the other way.
*******
We end up at Party City.
"Oh my God, Taylor, this is already an awful idea. I can feel it." I groan was were walk through the automatic doors. The cold air hits my face and I shiver, despite the fact I was wearing a jacket.
Thriller was playing and Taylor does some kind of weird dance type thing in a circle and a couple leaving stares at her, clearly freaked out and I laugh.
"This is great." She says gesturing around smiling. I look around and the whole place was filled with Halloween costumes and decorations. Taylor picks something up and then turns around, throwing it at me.
I jump back slightly waiting for it to hit me in the face but nothing does. I wasn't even sure what she had thrown. "What was that?" I ask her and she shrugs, taking her phone out of her pocket. I look around on the floor and look back up, finding nothing.
Something black on my jacket catches my eye and I look down and see a pitch black spider sitting there. I scream ripping my jacket from my body, throwing it down and running. I look from down the aisle at Taylor, who was on her knees in hysterics.
I just stare at her and then become angry. Fake spider. I growl under my breath. Reasons I hate Party City with a burning passion.
She grabs my jacket, pulling the spider from it and holding it up. Struggling to catch her breath she looks at me half crying. "You're an idiot...fake...it was fake!" She says, beginning to cough.
"I hate you with a burning passion." I say, a shiver going up my spine.
She holds up her phone and stops laughing, yet she was still breathing hard. "I got it on video!"
"Shut up." I say angrily. She drags herself from the ground and walks over to me still holding the spider. She waves it in my face smiling. I smack it from her hand and she laughs.
"Can we leave now?" I ask.
"No," Taylor says shaking her head as if she were ashamed. "We haven't got our costumes.
"I am not going to this party, let alone going in a costume."
"It doesn't have to be a complete costume. Just put a cape on and it counts. She says. "And you are coming if I have to tie you up and drag you there."
"Graphic." I say.
"I could have gone farther." She says matter-of-factly.
I roll my eyes, but honestly I knew she could have gotten way more graphic than already.
She leaves me on the other half of the aisle as something catches her eye and she goes to look at it and I go to look at something myself.
*******
We spent at least 2 more hours in the store. Almost more than that but I forced Taylor to choose just one outfit, assuring her that she would need not to change her outfit various times during the night.
I had been praying that my parents wouldn't allow us to go to Niall's party but Taylor asked before I did so and it's impossible to say no to Taylor.
I sneak down to the kitchen and grab a Kit-Kat and then pace back to my own room.
I grab The Fault in Our Stars from my bookshelf and sit down onto my bed. I turn to page one, planning to reread the book, considering how good it was. Soon I get lost in all of the words, John Green's way of using them enrapturing me and soon I forget about the world around me.

Alright, I get it; Short update, but I will be done with the next one in about a day so that works.
