dear red,
there's a new year's party in the ravenclaw common room tomorrow.
i really hope to see you there.
i'm fairly certain you'll look absolutely beautiful.
now that i've accepted my feelings for you,
i think about you constantly.
now i know exactly how you felt.
or still do i hope...love, a boy that can't get you out of his head.

it was now the 31st of december and rose was getting ready for the new year's party. she had on a classic little black dress and heels. she was just swiping on some sparkly lipgloss to finish off her look when lily spoke,
"do you think james is going to be there?" the red head spoke with furrowed eyebrows.
"well i'm sure. it is james potter after all, the party king..." rose answered with a fond smile before adding; "and let's not forget sirius, the queen of parties."
the twins chuckled, and as their laughs faded rose furrowed her eyebrows, "why do you ask, lillian?"
"oh, no reason. i was just wondering." lily said with a shrug, swiping her thick lashes with mascara.
upon arriving at the ravenclaw common room, the girls spotted a fellow seventh year student waiting at the door to let in students who weren't in ravenclaw. the riddles the door asked the teens would most definitely stall most of them.
"hey lily, hey rose!" tobias, the sixth year at the door greeted them.
rose mumbled a "hello" paired with a shy smile and wave while lily ignored the boy. she hadn't meant to be rude, she was lily evans after all, she was simply too pre-occupied to notice the boy's greeting.
the ravenclaw common room was magnificent. the ceiling was charmed like the great hall's, causing it to display the starry night sky. a bookshelf was built into the wall in a semi-circle indention, and a comfy looking chair was placed in front of it.
"i'm going to grab a drink. you want anything?" lily asked her sister, though distractedly. with a shake of rose's head, lily was satisfied enough, and she set off through the crowd. her dark red hair swishing behind her before she disappeared.
rose was drawn to the bookshelf instead. as she placed a nimble finger upon the spine of one book, she walked along, her finger skimming every book as she quickly read each title. she probably looked like a total loser. what teenager stands around a bookshelf at a party?
"hello, red." rose heard a voice she was so very fond of which caused her to grin and turn her head to look at the messy haired boy she adored.
"hello, jameson." she returned.
"you look absolutely stunning, though that's not much of a surprise." james smoothly responded as he crossed his ankles and leaned against the bookshelf.
with a blush, rose responded, "why thank you. you don't look too bad either." rose observed they way his hazel eyes lit up when she complimented him. rose's eyes raked the boy's body quickly as she took in his appearance. his messy black hair was just as she loved to see it. he had on a striped sweater of scarlet and yellow, a white undershirt poked out around his neck, his wrists, and his waist. he paired a pair of jeans with the sweater, and a black belt, along with his plain black and white converse.
