chapter 19

ONE DAY AGO Tuesday, October 23rd

Eleanor’s POV

I was sitting at our table impatiently waiting for Niall to come up with Sarah so we could all meet her. I had only seen her once before and I was having trouble remembering exactly what she looked like.

“Have you spotted her yet?” I heard Perrie’s voice ask from behind me as she approached the table.

“Not yet.” Danielle answered from across the table, craning her neck to get a peak at a group of people walking from the parking lot.

Perrie sat down next time me and pulled out her phone, grinning at something and quickly typing away.

“Oh God are you and Zayn sexting again?” I asked rolling my eyes. “For God’s sakes it’s only 7:45 in the morning!”

“That’s none of your business.” Perrie said slipping her phone in her bag and crossing her arms over her chest. “Oh my God! There she is!” Perrie whisper-yelled as she pointed to Niall and an adorable redhead walking our way, arms linked.

“Perr, don’t point, it’s rude.” Danielle chided, a huge grin on her face. “She’s really pretty.”

“Yeah.” I said, feeling a twinge of jealousy in my stomach.

Am I not allowed to be jealous of my friend’s girlfriends? Sue me.

“Hey ladies, this is Sarah. Sarah this is Eleanor, Perrie, and Danielle.” Niall said pointing to each of us.

“Hi, it’s nice to finally meet you.” Sarah said, grinning widely, showing off her insanely white teeth.

We all waved at her saying our greetings and exchanging pleasantries. All we really wanted to do was get to the interrogation, but we had to wait for Niall to leave her alone with us, which may not happen.

To our luck, however, Niall got a text from Zayn at that moment, saying he should meet them inside, something about a project or whatever.

“I’ll be back soon, love.” Niall said, kissing Sarah on the forehead sweetly. “You can talk with the girls, they don’t bite.”

All three of us batted our eyelashes at Niall innocently and wiggled our fingers at him in a wave.

“Play nice.” He hissed at us as he made his way into the school.

“So, Sarah, tell us about yourself.” Perrie said, placing her hands on her crossed knees.

“What exactly would you like to know?” Sarah said, smiling sweetly at us.

“Let’s start with the basics. How old are you… what do you do here at Willimpton…what will you bring to our group of friends.” Perrie said with a bored look on her face as she examined her perfectly manicured nails.

“Well, I’m seventeen—“ Sarah started and Perrie cut her off.

“Oh, Niall’s going younger. That’s cute.” Perrie said.

“Uh, I suppose.” Sarah said awkwardly as she brushed some red hair behind her ear. “I sing in the choir and I’m on the debate team. I also love to cook. That’s how Niall and I met. We are in the same Home Economics class. I mostly do all the baking and he mostly does all the eating, but I guess that’s what makes us such a good pair.”

“That’s adorable.” I said smiling cheerfully at her.

“Hey guys!”

I turned to see Cher walking up to us, looking beautiful as ever. Cher caught my gaze and smiled knowingly at me.
