Chapter 21:
Acceptance"What do you mean I'm lying? He fucken bit my neck," I exclaimed to the man glaring down at me.
"Enough. You know exactly what he is and why he did it. I will be calling him and letting him know you're alright. He must be going crazy feeling the pain you went through," the Alpha said before stalking out the room.
"Lay back down sweetie, you're going to be on bed rest for a long while. You had broken ribs, a punctured lung, dislocated shoulder, fractured left ankle, broken nose, and honey I'm not sure how but dislocated thumbs which we push back in and you have to wear hand braces. Also, a huge chunk of meat was hanging off your side, we had to sew you back up. I'm surprised you woke up so early," the nurse explained.
I didn't bother to respond as I've been put through training to survive situations like this.
"Let me know if you need anything honey, press this button right here, " she said before leaving the room.
I need to leave. Now.
As soon as the door closed behind her I pulled out the needles in my arms and pushed the blankets off me. I moved my legs to the edge of the bed and pushed my self up and put pressure on my feet. I felt dizzy as soon as I stood up, stars filling up my vision, but I couldn't let that get to me right now. I could feel a slight pain in my left foot which was badged. I looked around slowly as soon as the dizziness died down, I needed to get out of this hospital gown in order to sneak out. I found a set of new clothes in a bag on a couch which was near the bed. I quickly got dressed in black leggings and a grey t-shirt, putting on the same shoes I had on before. I walked over to the window in the room, I was on the first floor which made this much easier. I opened the window and hopped out, wincing as the pain in my torso made me wheeze.
I had to find a vehicle, I wouldn't be able to make it far with this harsh pain. Keeping close to the side of the house I made my way around, hoping to find a garage. Thankfully it was dark out which helped conceal me, but with these werewolves, they could still see me from a mile away. I smirked as I saw a black Mustang parked near the house. As I slowly made my way towards the car, ignoring the pain, I heard a commotion inside the house.
"Where is she?!" I heard someone yell.
"Shit," I hissed running towards the car, one arm wrapped around my abdomen.
I opened on the driver's door and fortunately for me, it was unlocked. Entering the car, I pulled on the wires underneath, I had to leave as soon as possible. Just as I jump-started the car and heard it purr to life, I heard a growl near me.
"She's in the Mustang!" Yelled a man running towards me from the house.
I put the car in drive and pressed down on the gas pedal, tires spinning before they gripped onto the ground and the car was rolling forward at a high speed. I drove down a dirt road, throwing up dust behind me as I went, not knowing where I was going but hopefully towards the city. I saw multiple wolves following me as they ran in the woods beside the car. Gripping the steering wheel with both hands, I pressed down on the break as I turned left, drifting onto the main road. I soon lost the wolves, I could no longer see them following me. I never eased up on the gas pedal, I couldn't take the chance.
Speeding into town, trying to ease my nerves, I went straight to one of my dad's storage units, it looked like an abandoned warehouse on the outside to anyone else. Stopping outside the warehouse, I got out of the car and ran up to the door, putting in the pin combination before the large doors slid open. I ran back to the Mustang and drove it inside, needing to hide it. The large doors slid closed behind me as I parked the Mustang and got out. In this storage, we had multiple cars, mostly fast getaway cars. This storage had about 40 cars to choose from. Taking a set of keys off the wall where all the keys to the cars were hanging, I pressed the unlock button and noticed the keys belonged to a matte black Camero.
