Here you have it, a crazy amount of tiny and amusing little fact tidbits about One Life! Though they didn't make it to the final story, I love these to death and wanted them to be shared in some way or form.

Grace's Scrub Cap

In medical school, Grace had a Wonder Woman scrub cap. Her resident once told her to "get that ridiculous thing off her head."

So when she did get her MD and became a resident in San Francisco, Grace changed her cap to Meredith and/or Derek's from Grey's Anatomy (all the rage back then and now) so her patients (and colleagues) would take her seriously

Her patients soon began requesting her as the "ferry boat doc" because of her benevolent nature and of course, her Grey's sense of style. Seniors pointed her out as "Grey" on several occasions, while Grace responded, "That's copyright infringement."

Grace wears a different cap now—it's still cute though, don't freak! It's emblazoned with a tiny white flatline into sinus on the side (matching the tattoo on her foot). It's threaded in bandhani pattern to reflect her Gujarati upbringing.

Once in a while she breaks out the ferry cap. Even without it, many of her longtime patients will still refer to her as Dr. Seattle, and those who know her better as Wondy.

San Antonio Memorial Interns

For those of you not initiated in the Night Shift, Krista Bell-Hart and Paul Cummings were the first two interns in the show. Since they are not mentioned, SAM has no new trauma interns due to the combat program. However, they get a large batch to jumpstart SAM's reputation as a teaching hospital in One Chance.

Receptionist Position

A receptionist was not mentioned in the show, however, Mollie serves this post for the most part. Grace takes over during her pregnancy, and then returns the post to the nurses until they can find a permanent receptionist.

Why do Grace and TC decide not to get married religiously or largely?

They don't want to offend any of their traditions. Grace comes from a conservative and disapproving family, therefore TC decided it would be better for both of them to get married quietly.

The Callahan Method

Largely used in medicine of the Night Shift universe is the Texas Twist, medial turning of a lung. Having one of these in the book would be great, however it did not make it. The Texas Twist was first used by TC in the Army on a Kandahar tour to save a comrade with a punctured lung. TC earned himself his face on a medical tabloid and the Callahan Method as a result.

Sarah Reese

In the most recent season of Chicago Med, Sarah departs the hospital. Not mentioned directly is that she does return and is still a part of the One Life family.

The Old Med Schoolers

A large amount of characters attended Johns Hopkins Med together, including but not limited to:
TC
Grace
Jordan
Will (3rd yr onward)
Natalie (3rd yr onward)
Ethan Choi

Grace's Majors

Often confusable and not elaborated upon is what Grace actually is, a trauma doctor or an OB. She did a double residency in trauma and obstetrics, was a medic in the military, and studied both in med school, thereby qualifying her in both fields.
