A/N: i will do lots of pov changes!! they will mostly just be natalie's and brendon's, but hey, i just might shake it up a little sometimes ;)

Natalie's POV:

Today is the day. I just have a feeling. Something about today just seemed lucky.

I got out of bed quicker than I normally do, surprising myself at how optimistic I was about today. I went to the bathroom to discover my hair in a tangled mess. I brushed through it thoroughly, watching my curls spring into place as it always did. I made my way back to my room and decided that I should probably get dressed and head to the kitchen for some breakfast. I decided on a pair of lighter wash jeans that cuffed at the end and had small holes in the knees with a plain red t-shirt. I rolled up the sleeves just a little so it didn't look weird and tucked the bottom of my shirt into my jeans. I put on a pair of white converse and skipped my way downstairs. I didn't worry about putting on any makeup, since I really only wore it for special occasions.

"Morning Natalie," is what I was greeted with when I got to the kitchen. "You look cute today. Why are you so dressed up?" The group home head, Ms.Calvin asked, with sincerity in her voice.

"I don't know. I just had a feeling like today might be the day, you know?" I replied.

"It's good that you have hope. I do too, I think today might be your lucky day too. We have someone very special coming in this afternoon who wanted to do a little interview with you." As she said this, my eyes widened and a small smile grew on my face. I didn't get many interviews, as I was a bit older than what people normally want to adopt.

"Wow, someone wants to do an interview with me! I-I-I have to tell Elise! Thanks Ms.Calvin!" I yelled back as I sprinted to my room.

I grabbed my phone and sent a message to Elise immediately. It took forever to send because I had a really old phone that Ms.Calvin gave me. She couldn't afford to get me a nice new one since she had to save a lot for the 10 kids that lived in this house.

I turned my phone off and began to straighten up my room. Since I was the oldest, I got my own room. I had hung pictures of me and Elise above my bed and pictures of me meeting Tyler and Josh of twenty øne piløts next to the large tøp poster I had on my wall. I picked up my dirty clothes from this morning off the floor and put it in my clothes hamper. I made my bed and closed any open drawers or closet doors I had left open. I looked at my clock to see that it was almost two by the time I had finished cleaning. I had only gotten up at 10:30 am because it was the weekend. Soon after, Ms.Calvin called me downstairs.

When I reached the bottom of the steps, I seen a younger looking man, maybe about 27ish, 28 years old. He looked really nervous, which was kinda great because I was too. I stretched out my hand towards him.

"Hi, I'm Natalie." I said and gave him a soft, reassuring smile.

"Hello, I'm Brendon." he said as he smiled back with a soft smile to match mine.

"Natalie, why don't you show M- I mean Brendon, up to your room, and tell him about yourself? If you want, you can do the interview up there, so you are both comfortable." Ms.Calvin said, nodding me on.

"Okay. This way." I said, pointing up the staircase.

I started up the staircase, Brendon following close behind me. I showed him to my room and told him to make himself comfortable. He ended up sitting in my bed.

"So. I'm 13, my birthday is May 10th, 2000. I like to listen to twenty øne piløts and blackbear, or whatever is on the radio really. Except country music," I said, my statement about country music making him smile "I watch youtube a lot, mostly gaming videos, which is weird for a girl, I guess. I really like the color blue, but I also like orange, because halloween. Also, fun fact that you could most likely live without knowing but I'm gonna tell you anyways, I connot burp. I've tried, but I just can't." My last comment made him chuckle, which definitely seemed like a good sign.

"I really like you, kid. I think we have a lot in common. Quick question, do you mind being around a lot of guys around my age? It seems like an odd and probably sketchy question, but I promise it's not." he asked, seeming really nervous.

"I don't think I would mind, if they were all friendly of course." I replied, flashing him a quick grin to let him know he wasn't freaking me out.

"Ok, cool." he said.

"So, what about you?" I asked, curious at what this stranger was like.

"Well, I'm 25, my birthday is April 12th. I like to play lots of instruments, I make music in a band. I'd like to think of myself as a pretty fun guy," he said, giving me a smirk "and I think I want to adopt you."

His last sentence caught me a little off gaurd. I was right. Today was the day.

"Really?" I asked, with a giant, toothy grin on my face.

"Really." he replied, giving me a gentle hug.
