Thursday evening after a long day of testing, I finally got back to our room for the night and flopped down on my bed face first.

"Tough day?" Ace asked and I nodded with a small groan.

"They had me hooked up to a bunch of machines doing stress tests all day. I was on the treadmill for like 3 hours." I mumbled and I heard him moving around in the room. I felt him tap my shoulder but I just let out a little humph.

"Will this help?" he asked and I slowly lifted my head out of curiosity. My eyes met what was in his hand and my jaw dropped. My eyes went back to his face to see a smirk dancing on his lips. I shot up and took it from him.

"Where'd you get it?" I asked, looking up to him and he shrugged.

"The kitchen." He said and I jokingly raised my eyebrows at him.

"You snuck into the kitchen?" I asked and he shrugged again. I shook my head and then patted the spot on the bed next to me. He hesitated for a moment but sat down. I peeled the wrapping off the chocolate bar he had stolen and broke off two pieces. I handed one to him and popped my piece into my mouth at the same time he did.

"Finally, some real food." I said and I looked over to see the corners of his lips turned up.

I broke off half of the bar and handed it to him so we could both eat our pieces.

"Well you're definitely much better at stealing stuff than I am." I joked and he bumped my shoulder with his.

"You're learning." He said humorously and I let out a small breathy laugh. I looked over when he started shifting to see him lay down, his feet still planted on the ground and his head right at the edge of the bed. He tucked his hands behind his head and gazed up at the ceiling.

I leaned forward on my crisscrossed legs and put the chocolate wrapper on my night stand before laying down next to him. My head landed beside his and I looked up, my hands resting on my stomach as I thought. A comfortable silence enveloped us as we both were lost in our own thoughts.

After a while I broke the silence.

"What do you think of this place?" I asked and he glanced over to me, thinking for a second.

"I don't think its what it says it is." He said and I nodded slowly.

"Me either." I said, a frown settling on my face.

"Do you think we'll actually get out?" I asked softly after a while and looked over to him. He looked over to me and locked his eyes with mine. I was finally close enough to notice his eyes were a deep brown and had flecks of a lighter coppery color floating in them.

He hesitated, a crease forming in between his eyebrows.

"Yeah, we'll get out. Whether they let us willingly or not." He said and the slightest smile settled on my face.

"Okay." Is all I said before we both turned back to looking up to the ceiling.

I don't know what time it was but a while later, I ended up drifting off to the sound of Ace's steady breathing, falling into a deep sleep after the exhausting day I had.

I dreamt of getting out of this place, of finally being able to start living a normal life, and I dreamt that our group here was right by my side.
